The 1997 Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals already set this precedent. Blaming Trump for enforcing a law that's already on the books is just silly, just because previous Presidents may have been selective in *their* enforcement of it

if they choose to be deported, their children go with them. If they choose to apply for asylum, they inevitably stay in the country longer than 20 days, and their kids have to be removed as the law dictates
a fix for this mess was dropped on the president's desk back in 2017. With both parties coming to an agreement to solve the crisis. The president promised to pass it.
