Basically, I started posting those memes about annexing Canada, and it turns out that it was a really fun bandwagon for people to jump onto

and it actually became a really frequent direction for conversations on the server to go

Manifest Destiny memes and whatnot

Throw in some IRL politics talking about strained US/Canadian trade relationships, and the anti-Canadianism reached a point that some Canadians on the server ended up uncomfortable

Which is fair

so the moderators put an announcement in the rules section that read, in part, ```Alright guys, it has been decided that we are going to cut down on the "Annex Canada" jokes/memes for a bit. We have been told repeatedly by many users that it tends to be spammed quite a bit, derailing channels and making new users uncomfortable.```

I can take the shenanigans but it only goes so far before it starts getting a little dum

and sounding more like a "you're X so stfu" than a gag
