Sounds retarded
his destiny is to kill Apocalypse, some doomsday mutant, but some douchebag infected him with the metal virus to kill him before that
so he was sent to the future to learn how to git gud and maybe cure it one day
Well, again, if it wasn't for him fighting it off he would be a planet-buster mutant

Yeah I agree
@franti I'd want to see a peterson vs owen jones debate
So I think I have a decent way to articulate the issue many people have with the "Capitalism kills millions" argument.
The death tolls often quoted for capitalism are usually abstracted from general deaths from malnutrition, curable illness, environmental hazards, or other "preventable" causes. These are implied to be the direct result of capitalism, as if capitalism caused all these things, which we know it does not. Yes, capitalism CAN cause things like air pollution and food shortages via market shenanigans, but this is by FAR the minority of these causes of death.
@banestrum
Except the same death toll lists for communism use such metrics
While implying that capitalism is the direct cause of all these deaths (it isn't), the actual factual argument being made is that capitalism COULD HAVE prevented these deaths if it wasn't so focused on profit to the exclusion of all else. Again, sometimes this is true, diseases go untreated because of medicine being overpriced or whatever, but AGAIN, this is acting as if capitalism (an economic system, not an actual government) has any sort of responsibility towards people's well being. I think this is a bit of projection on the communists' part, as they're treating capitalism like a failed communist system that isn't taking care of it's citizens as it should be. That is the job of a government, and when people criticize communism, they're criticizing the system of government, not the economics (usually).
The people that are quoted in "deaths caused by communism" are from starvation or the use of force by the communist state (along with some other stuff). These are quite often the direct result of actions taken by the communist state (like shooting a dissident usually results in them dying). Essentially, deaths under communism are often directly caused by the communist state, which should bear responsibility for their deaths. I think it's dishonest to compare a death by omission (at worst) to willful murder by the state.
That make sense?
Capitalism has the philospihy of the enlightenment, and individuality woven into it
the morality of entrepenuership
pulling yourself up from your bootstraps
If you read the capital it isnt about that socialism is more moral
Well I was more wondering if that was a decent if wordy explanation of why the "capitalism kills millions" argument is fallacious
You wont convince ideologicaly charged people
But is it a logical explanation of my position?
I don't intend to magically make people change their minds, but usually being reasonable and explaining your position gets them to reexamine their approach a bit
it is sound
Damn now I need a Nazi pug with a puppy pug pfp
