Now closer to my Dad than ever tho.

2018-08-11 05:34:03 UTC

She sounds like less than half an actual person

2018-08-11 05:34:06 UTC

@Aviendhe so why the fuck does she need alimony for?

2018-08-11 05:34:07 UTC

When some of those assets during the divorce were claimed by my mother I pursued litigation against her and ended up testifying multiple times against her in court

2018-08-11 05:34:12 UTC

So

2018-08-11 05:34:13 UTC

Theres that

2018-08-11 05:34:14 UTC

😛

2018-08-11 05:34:19 UTC

I DONT FUCKING KNOW YOU TELL ME.

2018-08-11 05:35:12 UTC

If alimony has to exist, I believe it should only be with heavy oversight and accountability to simply allow the other spouse to get back on their feet. Immediately ending upon employment and with the recipient having to submit proof of seeking employment.

2018-08-11 05:35:14 UTC

But somehow

2018-08-11 05:35:19 UTC

Someome respond to my reddit thread reeee

2018-08-11 05:35:22 UTC

My mother gets a ticket to retirement for 25 years lol

2018-08-11 05:35:30 UTC

Whereas my dad loses his.

2018-08-11 05:35:45 UTC

Its fucked up; part of the reason why Im pushing so hard in my field because Im hoping to be able to help my Dad retire

2018-08-11 05:35:47 UTC

your dad could emigrate to a different country

2018-08-11 05:35:52 UTC

^ BINGO

2018-08-11 05:36:01 UTC

We have spoken of this when I graduate

2018-08-11 05:36:02 UTC

Well..... I mean.... she does sound useless enough to not find work

2018-08-11 05:36:17 UTC

Well shes now officially employed by Delta

2018-08-11 05:36:19 UTC

So

2018-08-11 05:36:34 UTC

@Aviendhe does he pay a fixed ammount or a %?

2018-08-11 05:37:55 UTC

@Deleted User
Its Illinois. He got fucked HARD.
Percentage for each year of marriage adding up to 25 percent plus a 25 fixed amount so basically 50 percent of his networth. Great lawyer though who was able to roll it back. I am unsure of the final settlement but he is seeking to renegotiate it every year.

2018-08-11 05:38:18 UTC

But it is somewhere close to that mark.

2018-08-11 05:38:28 UTC

@Aviendhe work a mim-wage job and give her jack shit

2018-08-11 05:39:16 UTC

He wouldnt do that, plus I wouldnt want him to for his happiness.
My Dad has worked all his life from absolute poverty to be top in consulting/technology solutions and engineering for the auto industry.

2018-08-11 05:39:21 UTC

He loves his work and his work is his life.

2018-08-11 05:39:32 UTC

Have your boss pay for your external expenses via an expense account, and only get paid minimum wage.

2018-08-11 05:40:03 UTC

Oh that nice car? Business expense.

2018-08-11 05:40:10 UTC

or work as a server and don't report tips

2018-08-11 05:40:24 UTC

give her that less than mim wage money

2018-08-11 05:40:28 UTC

Thats clever.
As I said he will probably emigrate in a year or two when Im out.

2018-08-11 05:41:16 UTC

tbh if I the guy writing the checks, I'd be sympathetic @Fitzydog

2018-08-11 05:41:38 UTC

He is court ordered to pay 60 percent of my tuition with my mom as 40; I just bounce the money back to him as, as I said, I have savings.

2018-08-11 05:42:23 UTC

does you sister like your whore of a mother?

2018-08-11 05:42:35 UTC

I do admit I am in the 1% and extremely lucky to not have had to take on massive student debt but Id like to think a lot of that was because of my hard work in HS and busting my ass freelancing during the summers and doing Tier 1 and jr sysadmin IT.

2018-08-11 05:42:49 UTC

Shes neutral - just completely disconnected now.

2018-08-11 05:43:25 UTC

Both of our parents definitely have issues, my Dad just has less and his issues only impacted his private life and marriage and NEVER spilt over into his childrens.

2018-08-11 05:43:32 UTC

1% means that you earn over 250k? a year

2018-08-11 05:43:57 UTC

No; as in Im fairly certain 90 percent of students in this country are in some form of debt

2018-08-11 05:44:32 UTC

my Dad doesnt, nor do I, earn in the American "1%". However I am definitely in the 1-10% of college students who does not have a single student loan on the books.

2018-08-11 05:44:37 UTC

And no credit card debt
