I believe there's much wisdom in this narrative. A man needs to be able to be a real threat in terms of how much violence and destruction he can bring about if necessary, but at the same time be the most tender of all creatures, knowing that ideally in a happy society he shouldn't ever need to use that capacity he's got, that "side"
