How to get right with God? Forgive everyone who wronged you. Write down your sins or at least search your heart for the wrongs you did to others, and ask Jesus to forgive your sins. Then ask Jesus to adopt you, to come into your heart and become your Lord (leader) and Savior and to send you the Holy Spirit. You need to be 100% sincere. Otherwise you're just saying poems.

Then start reading the New Testament and follow Jesus Christ's teachings. And all will be well. There will be beautiful changes in your life, you will overcome many things and have many battles (spiritual) with your old nature and temptation. You will win and your life will get better. Your protection is: humility and obedience to God.
