Yeah, that would be great.

2019-05-29 14:23:32 UTC

So apparently "white male privilege" is meant for race issues only...

2019-05-29 16:10:36 UTC

White male privilege, which is a stupid thing to say to begin with cause it's made up, doesn't even apply to prison sentences. Stupid for anyone to bring it up when women get off with a slap on the wrist or nothing consistently

2019-05-29 16:22:38 UTC

I always thought that 'white male privilege' was just a made up term to try and explain affirmative action?

2019-05-29 16:22:50 UTC

Otherwise everyone sees it as reverse sexism/racism a lot more easily and quickly

2019-05-29 16:27:08 UTC

In part it is, people think companies would rather hire white men than hire whoever is best for their profits. Though it's often also used to just say that 'you don't have to worry about getting mugged/raped/arrested etc' like they do, it's impossible for you to understand how hard it is being them!'

Such arguments treat individuals as groups, not taking into account everyone's life has been different, and often aim to minimise anything a person of that sex or race experiences

Heya @kidy

2019-05-29 17:47:37 UTC

Hello!

2019-05-29 17:49:40 UTC

@Rockstar The white privlage here is that you get a slightly better sentance than a black man. The male privlage is that your sentance is, by default, 63% harsher than what a woman would get for the same crime. Plus the doubled chance of arrest and prosecution. Women also have nicer prisons.

2019-05-29 19:54:54 UTC

Yeah it's infuriating when you get the 'equality' rant when some of those examples are huge inequalities.

2019-05-29 19:55:23 UTC

But imo the supreme court does want to rule against affirmative action, we just aren't quite there yet in that zeitgeist for it to be carried by the country.

2019-05-29 19:55:38 UTC

I did hear there are some positive TitleIX verdicts lately though

2019-05-29 20:01:05 UTC

Obviously not enough though, since there keeps being more. Honestly the way colleges use title ix as justification to hold their own 'trials' and expel people on a preponderance of evidence standard is infuruliating. It needs to be repealed

Welcome to the discord

2019-05-29 20:05:35 UTC

Good Afternoon, I actually came here from the Unicorn Riot Leaks site. I am not here to dox anyone, I actually come as a Conservative Republican interested in seeing why Men’s Rights group are being discriminated against.

2019-05-29 20:06:53 UTC

That's fine, I know about that. Personally I think the logs there should show we are not a hate group of any kind

2019-05-29 20:10:12 UTC

I think one of the primary reasons people are against us that we stand against the feminist narrative, and being against feminism to feminists and some other people means we must be misogynists

2019-05-29 20:11:25 UTC

We have also been linked to far right ideologies, yet there are people from all over the political spectrum who are concerned about the issues we bring up, who are part of this movement

2019-05-29 20:12:40 UTC

Please feel free to browse or take part wherever you wish

2019-05-29 20:24:32 UTC

Idd gotta say I've not seen anyone in here spout any nonsense about far right 'talking points', it's purely a smoke screen to try to attack the people belonging to the group before they make valid points on paternity leave, male circumcision, prison sentencing inequalities etc. But I suppose as any group grows it needs to stay true to it's roots and try to avoid those voices.

2019-05-29 20:25:32 UTC

Originally if I remember correctly MRAs were largely Democrats but with the current democrats largely indifferent to supporting MR issues we're seeing many consider themselves 'conservative' with a small 'c'.

2019-05-29 20:26:48 UTC

Tbh regardless of your political views the issues don't change very much when it comes to MR, we seem to have quite a few colored, conservative, gay and/or liberal people who are starting to realise that shouting MRAs down and calling MRAs 'nazis' doesn't give you a strong argument - it just makes them look like bigots.

2019-05-29 23:48:50 UTC

Hi all

2019-05-29 23:49:33 UTC

As you know, I am now a woke feminist and Brie Larson fan (bought captain marvel).

2019-05-29 23:49:57 UTC

Ah, I knew it Drew!!

2019-05-30 00:03:14 UTC

@Rockstar i see the MRM as non partisan really. you're right that associating us with the far right is a smoke screen, its a way to discredit us. theres nothing inherently right wing about the MRM

2019-05-30 00:06:32 UTC

I've heard mrm described as white power adjacent

2019-05-30 00:06:43 UTC

Which isn't true of course

2019-05-30 00:17:22 UTC

Of course not, they’ll associate is with anything, Nazis you name it.

2019-05-30 01:26:32 UTC

>mrm described as white power adjacent

2019-05-30 01:26:39 UTC

100% false ^^

2019-05-30 01:27:02 UTC

its just slander to dissuade people from reading for themselves so its easier to lie

2019-05-30 01:27:35 UTC

it doesnt even make sense to say the MRM is "white power adjacent"

2019-05-30 01:32:31 UTC

Most likely the podcast host never did actual research and jsut went off of what some feminist friend told him.

2019-05-30 01:32:48 UTC

It's a pretty good podcast for the most part
