And by 'small handful' I mean, in comparison to the amount of people there, it was very few who ruined it for the rest.
But that wasn’t what I asked 🤷
They lost their jobs because they went to support the president? 🤷♀️ I'm not going to pretend that I know the mind of the people who made those decisions.
He said they were not at the gathering and lost their job. How’s that work?
he probably meant they weren't among those who actually broke into the capitol
I'm not sure. You'll have to ask him. I'm still looking for the article to send you.
I know of them an investigation was opened to see if they were at the riots. They were to be fired if they participated only.
Kinda weird to say they got fired for not participating
Well, apparently they were put on 'leave'... which is at least temporary firing.... lol
You're focusing too much on the wording, it seems they were fired for probably being affiliated with the crowd, it was never confirmed if they were among those who actually entered the building or attempted to breach the barriers.
But they weren’t they are being investigated 😂
🤷♂️
That’s the opposite thing
I read suspension somewhere else
Exactly the point.... they were put on leave just for being in the area... they don't even know if they were at the rally, in the building, or anything.... and still were put on leave... I believe that is the point that was trying to be made.
NY Post: “We believe they were there, but we don’t know all the facts yet, so that’s why we’re doing the investigation,” Myerberg told the outlet.
They should be fired if they were rioting as cops
Anyone who was rioting should be reprimanded and tried in a court of law for their part in that.
They have mountains of video evidence, luckily, and seem to be identifying people quickly.... if only they had been so diligent over the summer when things were actually on fire...
How were they “not diligent” in the summer they arrested hundreds lol
I won't deny, they did arrest many... however the official 'law-keepers' were told to stand down in many instances, and allowed the burning and rioting to last weeks.... even the government officials were saying it's a great way to show how they really feel, (not in those exact words, but I hope you understand what I mean).
Hell they arrest more liberals peacefully protesting than they arrest lunatics rioting in the capitol 😂
That's because it's like I said earlier.... the people in the Capitol were a handful of the entire crowd... this was one protest who was actually 'mostly peaceful'...
didn't Minneapolis defund their police station?
over last summer,
Most people who showed up to the Trump rally were just trying to be patriots... I don't think most people who went expected it to end like it did.
Surrounding the capitol breaking in and killing folks isn’t peaceful. That’s not how peaceful protests work
There was even some little ole grandma in the Capitol building.... she was obviously just following folks around.... I doubt she was a threat....
Well, any city that cuts the police budget by millions, loses their Police Chief (a Black Female) because she didn't like the $100,000 cut in her pay, lets the rioters set up an autonomous district in their city for months, really doesn't need a reason to be unreasonable. I'm sorry I don't recall the news source I heard that from, but it was not a major/legacy news media source.
@Tom(FTP/Dwarves), you just advanced to level 1!
I agree with you. Those things should not have happened.
the only person killed there was Ashli Babbit, the air force veteran
3 others succumbed to "medical emergencies", the cop who died succumbed to being crushed and trampled on, awful, but I'd hardly call it murder
I have read that one police officer died from being hit with a fire extinguisher.... I also read before that he died from previous medical conditions.... I don't know for sure which is true... both stories came from legacy media.
I read that one was being crushed when he was caught between two doors in an elevator or something
My point being, I don't think many disagree that what happened was terrible... even if it was only 1 death.... there should have been none.
It almost seems like they were set up to fail
I read this as well.
on a day with hundreds of lawmakers and the vice president in one room, you'd figure there would be better security
