@PreschoolFightClub which is the option closest to: do whatever the hell you want, just keep the rest of the server as it was ? xD

2019-05-27 14:55:39 UTC

None, unfortunately.

2019-05-27 14:55:44 UTC

and what is this waifu wars anyway ? xD

2019-05-27 14:56:55 UTC

@Deleted User I prefer a balanced portfolio with no more than 20% of my gross earnings per month being invested.

2019-05-27 14:57:41 UTC

@Rhunespire That’s the traditional percentage isn’t it? 15-20% invested over 30-40 years

2019-05-27 14:58:11 UTC

What is your asset allocation?

2019-05-27 14:58:33 UTC

I’m going 60/20/20 large/mid/small basically.

2019-05-27 14:58:34 UTC

None...yet. still getting out of debt

2019-05-27 14:58:45 UTC

@conker Just look at the video I’m going to put in <#517757020883910676>

2019-05-27 15:00:00 UTC

@Deleted User uh nice, finally someone who wants to talk about investing xD
have you seen tfms monkeynomics videos ?

2019-05-27 15:00:07 UTC

Same. I’m about to make a payment on my debt. After this payment I’ll have $7k left for all my debt. By end of July, it will be gone! Fuck this debt.

2019-05-27 15:00:23 UTC

@conker Yes however I disagree with him on a few things.

2019-05-27 15:00:41 UTC

However I am still reading and learning so I’ll take his word for it for now.

2019-05-27 15:01:24 UTC

Passive investing and self managed investing seems better. I don’t plan on individual stocks. I don’t want to give 1-2% of my entire portfolio away.

2019-05-27 15:01:50 UTC

I'm not a fan of managed mutual funds as well, that's bs

2019-05-27 15:01:52 UTC

I’m looking at VTI and VXUS, after looking into lazy portfolios by bogle heads.

2019-05-27 15:01:56 UTC

Yeah

2019-05-27 15:02:23 UTC

tfm claims, there are good fund managers out there,
but on the other hand there are statistics, that most of them don't even outperform the index

2019-05-27 15:02:31 UTC

I think he said that because he works in finance or is following Dave Ramsey’s mindset. I love Dave ramsey for getting out of debt but he’s totally wrong about mortgages, ETFs and mutual funds.

2019-05-27 15:02:59 UTC

@conker I have under $1m so I really doubt the good investors will take my moneys

2019-05-27 15:03:05 UTC

then I did read a book from john bogle advocating for etfs (ok, he is a friend of warren buffet, and who would have thought, he ofc has a etf comapany :P)

2019-05-27 15:03:50 UTC

I think most guys here are far below $1m ;)
especially the younger ones

2019-05-27 15:04:16 UTC

Side question: As single men... what insurance do we all need? Medical, dental, vision, renter/home, auto and umbrella (once we are worth $1m)?

2019-05-27 15:04:29 UTC

@conker yes! That’s the guy I’m reading a lot about.

2019-05-27 15:04:52 UTC

so anyway, I'm probably ok with etfs, although I have some reservations buying shit stocks (i.e. the last years there were banks, etc in there) - so I don't really want this index etf strategy

2019-05-27 15:05:12 UTC

the next interesting thing was this sector / cycle investing strategy, which actually looked very interesting

2019-05-27 15:05:24 UTC

Isn’t the argument that the CSRP index self cleanses?

2019-05-27 15:05:47 UTC

Which is what most vanguard indices are based off...

2019-05-27 15:05:51 UTC

I think.

2019-05-27 15:06:20 UTC

The only other trading that interests me is options lol. Which is day trading basically.

2019-05-27 15:06:34 UTC

All other money will go into my business(Ed).

2019-05-27 15:06:38 UTC

you don't need to daytrade options

2019-05-27 15:06:45 UTC

I don’t.

2019-05-27 15:06:46 UTC

you can also hold them for longer

2019-05-27 15:06:56 UTC

It just seems interesting.

2019-05-27 15:07:03 UTC

I rather work on my craft though.

2019-05-27 15:07:21 UTC

I know a quite nice german channel, that guy sounds pretty reasonable

2019-05-27 15:07:35 UTC

he seems to have some option trading scheme

2019-05-27 15:07:41 UTC

The sector cycle investing strategy - isn’t that the traditional philosophy?

2019-05-27 15:08:01 UTC

Link in DM?

2019-05-27 15:08:20 UTC

idk what the CSRP means ...
