Back in the late 40s to mid 50s, Joseph McCarthy was a Senator who led investigations into possible Communist agents living/working among us. They were considered to be the modern equivalent of a witch hunt.

There was propaganda spread around for citizens to turn in anyone they suspect of being a communist sympathizer.

One wrong move could've ruined your life during that time

That's just what I can remember off the top of my head.

That also reminds me of being a Trump supporter

It was defined in the constitution by the founding fathers. Why they settled on four year I'm not sure.

Four years is two house rep elections,And also its just a nice number,3 is too short and 5 can be to long
