So we're just gonna ignore WW2 like that?
I mean, are we being serious or memeing?
I'm being serious.
O boy.
🍿
So, WW2, we *saved them from themselves*
He's talking about when we forced Japan to give their women's rights
After WW2
Hold up, I wasn't trying to justify what Japan did.
Because they did some atrocious things
In a way, yes i would say the quality of life has increased since the dethroning of there monarch
But that's food for thought, you ladies fight it out
They still had women's rights forced on them by us unfortunately
I'm just saying that they have been culturally westernized
And giving women rights historically seems to correlate with improvements in general societal wealth.
🍿
You notice how the middle east is dirt poor, don't give women rights.
But, across history, as societies grow in wealth, they share more rights with more of their population?
That's basically what was being done with Japan.
Lol
It's not all about wealth.
Japanese fertility has been garbage for a long time now because of that.
Just because they give women's rights doesn't mean it improved things in any way
No, I'm not saying it does.
Also womans rights are only one aspect of a country becoming westernized
In fact, my point would be that it's one of the recurring mistakes civilizations make.
I would agree
And also how they pay the US for a good chunk of their defense.
That was part of their surrender.
Look at the us right after ww1 and 2 or even before the us led the industrial revolution but women still had few rights
I'm aware that was a part of their surrender, which is why I brought up WW2
But as people got more and more automated and jobs around the home became more a chore then job women got pissy
The US did infect Japan because without us it would've at least have been much slower.
Yes, there was American influence, but they are not american shills.
They cling to traditions much more than we do
They are also radically more homogenous.
That grip is slipping though, isn't it?
