It's really annoying how when I look up real estate online there's a bunch of troll listings with obviously fake prices

2018-12-07 08:00:04 UTC

@Alexander Pechorin where should I start?

2018-12-07 08:00:07 UTC

Problem is, there's a lot of grey area and I can't see where the fake prices end and actual cheap houses start

2018-12-07 08:00:31 UTC

@Jacob look at sheriff/county auctions on foreclosed properties

2018-12-07 08:00:46 UTC

be really careful though. for every 8 shit properties you find you'll have 1 good one

2018-12-07 08:01:22 UTC

I'm mostly looking out of curiousity

2018-12-07 08:01:31 UTC

I'm not necessarily trying to strike an amazing deal right now

2018-12-07 08:01:41 UTC

but I want to know how much property costs in certain areas

2018-12-07 08:01:42 UTC

yeah zillow and whatnot list inflated prices

2018-12-07 08:02:11 UTC

-10% to 20% depending on region is fair. Id almost never shoot for even with a normal zillow price.

2018-12-07 08:03:05 UTC

It's even worse when you look at international real estate prices

2018-12-07 08:03:09 UTC

I have no idea what is real

2018-12-07 08:03:36 UTC

There's troll listings for like $200 which are obviously fake, but there could very well be $10,000 properties in some countries

2018-12-07 08:03:42 UTC

yeah I imagine -50%-70% is fair on international stuff. For instance vancouver - a shack runs 100k minimum

2018-12-07 08:03:54 UTC

its all immigration & foreign money

2018-12-07 08:04:36 UTC

I'm looking on realtor.com right now

2018-12-07 08:04:49 UTC

seems like a pretty bad website

2018-12-07 08:04:59 UTC

I thought it would be credible since it's a legitimate company

2018-12-07 08:05:36 UTC

at this point in time almost any site listing retail will be inflated by >=10%

2018-12-07 08:06:04 UTC

best way to find a fair bargain is by finding local resellers - sold by owner exclusively

2018-12-07 08:07:18 UTC

hmmm I guess I could look on whatever the local equivalent of Craigslist or whatever is and convert the prices into dollars

2018-12-07 08:07:23 UTC

but those websites get spammed with fake listings too

2018-12-07 08:07:35 UTC

pisses me off when people list their stuff on Craigslist for $1

2018-12-07 08:09:02 UTC

in order to get actual, accurate, local listings you have to physically be in an area & get local quotes from people

2018-12-07 08:09:45 UTC

there must be some place where I can get a general idea

2018-12-07 08:09:46 UTC

craigslist is a decent approximation, but I wouldn't accept it as accurate unless you can get actual home sellers on the phone who are personally selling their properties without realtors

2018-12-07 08:09:57 UTC

okay I found a ReMax website with actual agents listed

2018-12-07 08:10:00 UTC

these prices can't be too fake

2018-12-07 08:10:16 UTC

assume >=10% buff on all prices

2018-12-07 08:10:25 UTC

unless its a heavily depressed area

2018-12-07 08:10:36 UTC

I could have bought this if I sold my crypto

2018-12-07 08:10:38 UTC

aaaaaaaaaaaa

2018-12-07 08:10:39 UTC

and by heavily I mean heavily heavily depressed real estate market

2018-12-07 08:10:51 UTC

$16,000

2018-12-07 08:10:58 UTC

>poland

2018-12-07 08:10:59 UTC

y tho

2018-12-07 08:11:27 UTC

eh I don't wanna spam the server with that discussion again

2018-12-07 08:12:15 UTC

>no [against server rules] rights
🤔

2018-12-07 08:12:48 UTC

At least I don't have see any [against server rules] loitering outside my door

2018-12-07 08:13:14 UTC
