Yeah. If the screen were glass it would have likely shattered completely. But the switch has a plastic screen which is more durable but scratches easier
I had a game boy advance get stuck under the truck seat track it was scratched bad. Nintendo sent a kit with replacement screen free. It was also a flimsy plastic screen but I was glad it was so easy to replace
