His ending was a rather sad one. He was shot down only a couple months before the war ended and never got to meet his son who was born the day of the first atomic bomb drop. His son never got to feel the affection of his father. Only knowing of him through stories from his mother and his fathers wing man ( Hellcat #41 )
I've had the opportunity to see a real Hellcat in person. They're big.
> 😂 Very carefully? I've heard American planes were a bit more generous in the cockpit size (phrasing!) than other nations', so there's that. At least he didn't end up in the Army - they'd have stuck him in a tank!
@Sage Well the Army actually had the Army Air Corps back then (before it became the Air Force). Just in case you didn't know that.
No, I knew. They just seemed to have a penchant for putting people into jobs that didn't really suit them.
Yeah.

A photo I took while at a classic car show
Those are some seriously vibrant clouds, are they legit or photo shopped in?
Looking outside of my window. I took this with a cardboard box, a magnifying lense, and cyanotype chemicals.
30 minute exposure
@Kaiser Wilhelm II Dang! That’s impressive!
thanks!
I can’t believe I found footage of my Great grandfather Lt. Roger Wean Karr; aboard the USS Hornet CV-12. My grandfather was so over joyed with this discover as he never met his father let alone see him in motion.
He was only 22 years old
@ChristianChicken1089 I I sharpened the image ever so slightly as this was taken on a phone
Wooo. I might have my first ever client.
Huh?
That's cool
