2020-11-08 03:06:55 UTC

2020-11-08 03:07:04 UTC

why did my brain go there?

2020-11-08 03:07:26 UTC

i dunno

2020-11-08 03:09:17 UTC

and that's when the dead men were marching again . . .

2020-11-08 03:10:12 UTC

"AND THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED!"

2020-11-08 05:52:46 UTC

poles fighting against religous extreemists back then and today

2020-11-08 05:54:46 UTC

well technically it was the poles bailing out the austrians who were fighting ottoman janissaries but still

2020-11-08 05:59:12 UTC

I got a set from sabaton that i bet even Astrovious wont get

2020-11-08 05:59:59 UTC

"Know that peace comes at a high price
It may take a thousand lives
And a deep belief
Sacrifice of men"

2020-11-08 06:01:19 UTC

and yes this is from sabaton

2020-11-08 06:52:20 UTC

yeah, but it was also their historical enemy

2020-11-08 06:52:39 UTC

they had fought the ottomans since mihai the great

2020-11-08 22:18:07 UTC

Can anyone explain the "party switch" in the south

2020-11-08 22:18:18 UTC

It was brought up during a conversation

2020-11-08 22:19:59 UTC

when the Democrat South and Republican North swapped places, but policy was the same it was just the people that switched.

2020-11-08 22:20:43 UTC

Explain 😅

2020-11-08 22:35:06 UTC

Basically there's this myth/theory that in the 60s the racist redneck democrats at the time were angry that their party passed the Civil rights act so they all switched sides en masse.

2020-11-08 22:39:41 UTC

How do I debunk that

2020-11-08 22:41:52 UTC

Well I don't have the evidence currently, but I'll tell you from my own knowledge that the South didn't become majority republican until the 90s.

2020-11-08 22:43:03 UTC

And here's the funny thing. Most older southerners I've talked to tell me that there were still lynchings well into the 80s but it virtually ceased after.

2020-11-08 22:43:54 UTC
2020-11-08 22:52:45 UTC

I don't believe it's pure coincidence that the amount of lynchings in the south coincided with how democratic it was.

2020-11-09 04:06:15 UTC

I actually never knew why the south switched. Thanks for sharing this

2020-11-09 04:06:43 UTC

PragerU has a vast number of opinions.

2020-11-09 04:09:02 UTC

ok...?

2020-11-09 04:10:07 UTC

It's not like they're full on brainlet.

2020-11-09 05:18:08 UTC

Do we have people who believe in the Lost Cause here?

2020-11-09 05:18:29 UTC

huh?

2020-11-09 05:18:34 UTC

what lost cause

2020-11-09 05:19:26 UTC

The Lost Cause is a Historical Theory that believes that the Confederates' cause was a just and heroic one, and it was a War of Northern Aggression.

2020-11-09 05:20:27 UTC

The North was fighting more for the preservation of the Union

2020-11-09 05:20:27 UTC

lost cause is retarded

2020-11-09 05:20:32 UTC

I'm kinda not big on the whole "slavery" thing and glad we got rid of it, even if it means my state was on the losing side of the war.
