2020-10-11 19:07:19 UTC

2020-10-11 19:07:58 UTC

2020-10-11 19:08:01 UTC

Bolt

2020-10-11 19:08:06 UTC

I see

2020-10-11 19:08:14 UTC

I got it when I was 16

2020-10-11 19:08:24 UTC

Nice

2020-10-11 19:08:28 UTC

Gave my dad the money for it and sent him to the gun store

2020-10-11 19:08:32 UTC

the coilgun is chambered in .50 cal and can break tempered glass

2020-10-11 19:08:35 UTC

plus no recoi;

2020-10-11 19:08:48 UTC

Then the next day when sighting in the bolt fell apart after the second shot

2020-10-11 19:08:51 UTC

I wouldnt mind owning a coilgun

2020-10-11 19:09:02 UTC

Luckily ruger repaired it free of charge

2020-10-11 19:09:35 UTC

Many gun companies just don't make em like they used to. Reminds me of cars

2020-10-11 19:09:56 UTC

mods can i post the video of said coilgun?

2020-10-11 19:11:01 UTC

I’ll allow it

2020-10-11 19:11:10 UTC

yay

2020-10-11 19:11:23 UTC

They really don’t my granddad on my dads side he has a Belgium browning he bought it when it was brand new and man that’s a pretty gun wood stock semi auto chambered in 30-06

2020-10-11 19:11:44 UTC

I want to see this coilgun

2020-10-11 19:12:17 UTC

My granddad on my moms side tells me that my love of guns will only get me in trouble

2020-10-11 19:12:25 UTC

I've used some old Remington 870 shotguns that were smooth as glass and the fit and finish on them was outstanding. Brand new ones are pretty rough

2020-10-11 19:12:38 UTC

while it is more powerful then say, airsoft and airguns,

2020-10-11 19:12:56 UTC

im not sure if its any more powerful then say, a normal firearm

2020-10-11 19:13:22 UTC

although that might have something to do with how they're just powering it with LiPo batteries

2020-10-11 19:14:10 UTC

Its difficult to get a power source with enough juice to fire a sustained volume of rounds while still being portable enough to be used in a small arm

2020-10-11 19:14:19 UTC

yeah

2020-10-11 19:14:38 UTC

Fortunately, we live in an interesting time where the research into this for EVs might eventually trickle down into coilguns

2020-10-11 19:14:52 UTC

i believe just one of the coil segments is already 3.24 lbs

2020-10-11 19:15:06 UTC

Damn

2020-10-11 19:16:01 UTC

Two of those is almost the weight of my unloaded Kalash

2020-10-11 19:16:14 UTC

jeez

2020-10-11 19:17:45 UTC

However, we must continue R&D on these because the current legal definition of a firearm doesn't cover coilguns
