nice. I know a fam that taught their kids to shoot pretty young like that. Their youngest boy got leukemia when he was a still a baby and so they taught him to shoot on a 30-06 at age 3 or something. o-o

I guess they just didn't want him going into the next life having not learned to shoot or something xD (edit: I think the kid ended up recovering from the cancer)

I started shooting at age of 8-9 with black powder rifles with my grandpa...then a long time of not touching any until I started Basic in the Marines

2020-10-26 21:58:27 UTC

doesnt some of the federal 556 ship on clips?

2020-10-26 22:13:04 UTC

Does anyone here carry around a backpack insert? I was thinking about getting one for a work bag. It’s a level 3 hard plate, 10 lbs. I feel like that might be a bit much.

2020-10-26 22:14:33 UTC

How much weight would you save by going 3a over 3?

2020-10-26 22:15:27 UTC

Particularly if you can get soft 3a over steel 3.

2020-10-26 22:15:50 UTC

I can get soft armor which is 2 lbs, stops up to a 44 mag / .357 sig

2020-10-26 22:16:06 UTC

Level 3 steel would stop rifle rounds tho

2020-10-26 22:16:46 UTC

Wonder if my laptop + note pad + soft armor would be enough for a 5.56 lol

2020-10-26 22:18:00 UTC

Without knowing your work or where you work it's hard to know if you would really need rifle over just pistol rated 3a soft however I would think for day to day the much lighter soft would likely be something you would actualy potentially carry.

2020-10-26 22:19:55 UTC

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I think I will just take my 11x14 plate out of my plate carrier and just walk around with that for a week. I just wondered if anyone had experience

2020-10-26 22:21:06 UTC

Interestingly enough, we are not allowed to have body armor of any-kind, to include armored backpacks, here at school. apparently some kid even got suspended for it. :/

2020-10-26 22:21:29 UTC

What kind of nazi state do you live in?

2020-10-26 22:21:33 UTC

no weapons, he just had a soft plate in his bag or something

2020-10-26 22:21:34 UTC

VA

2020-10-26 22:21:35 UTC

What?!?

2020-10-26 22:21:44 UTC

Oh no wonder, VA is a grabber state

2020-10-26 22:21:57 UTC

Gov Northam and his cronies are ruining this once free state.

2020-10-26 22:22:10 UTC

Isn't VA also one of those states where you can't buy body armor online?

2020-10-26 22:22:17 UTC

@sixfivebyfiftyfive just do it anyways, fuck em lol

2020-10-26 22:22:21 UTC

probably? idek.
