I don't know how the Bible says that's wrong
Who are saints, i think our discussion is missing something. @MKSmash
Saints are just people who are in heaven
How did they get there
By living holy lives
I agree but could u explain a little more.
What would you like me to explain more? How do they become officially recognized as saints by the church?
Yeah , if im correct, Catholic believe that saint must something great in order to be a saint, so im curious.
I don't remember the specific criteria, but I believe they have to have miracles attributed to them and some other things
Let me see what I can find
Ok sure
"The person must show Christian virtues, at least to an ordinary extent, before and after offering their life. They must have a 'reputation for holiness'at least after their death. They must have performed a miracle. This is a major difference from the 'martyrdom'category, which does not require a miracle."
Found that online
Well in the bible, Saints is anyone who has a living relationship with God through his mercy and grace expressed in the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. @MKSmash

@DeButcher a saint has to be dead. Where did you find/learn this?
It doesn't
Not much is said about saints in the bible, and the rules for establishing saints were developed over time
So my bishop closed down all the churches in the diocese because there has been a “spike” in COVID cases. Even though it is only in the big city of our diocese and not in the rest of the counties in our diocese

@MKSmash
Who established it?
Yeah
Dont understand why the Catholic add things to Christianity.
Catholicism didn't add to Christianity, christianity added to Catholicism 😂
I don't know who did the rules, I just know official canonizations began in the 10th century
I meant add things in the religion
What did they add

@MKSmash
Oh now I see what you mean
Idk
I guess to honor holy people that have helped the church
What's the problem with adding a system to honor then

Nothing wrong to respecting saints. But yall tend to glorify these people
After all they are just humans
Sure
But humans are pretty important things
Eh no, only God is important
Well
We're created in the image and likeness of God
We are his most important creation, made for glorifying him
And earlier you talked about praying to saints. Just a heads they cant do anything to help your cause.
Read about Rich man and Lazarus
They can do just as much as my best friend or brother can
We can just appeal to God
Only people that living atm
