no wonder why my aunt says Canada is India

2020-12-19 06:40:25 UTC

Also I wansnt saying that there will be equal outcomes, there will be different outcomes. I was using a sernerio if someone wants to be a certain profession and they have 2 different socialmclasses

2020-12-19 06:40:37 UTC

oh I misread

2020-12-19 06:41:10 UTC

I thought you meant the population of Canada is around the number of the sikh community. I think 1 million is a good estimate

2020-12-19 06:41:13 UTC

It's getting there that's the hard part. In Australia a student with private education is more likely to get the means to obtain a high ATAR to enter University, because they have the means to afford a better education. The person in a public school who can't go to school everyday will have less of a chance to obtain this high ATAR, simply because they don't have as strong of a start. This ultimately holds an influence over their ability to obtain the same job.

2020-12-19 06:41:14 UTC

sure. but "equal" is implying similar or the same chances given to a person, right? it also depends on how you define "opportunity". would someone taking on ANY jobs and every job and work your way up and saving money be consider having the same amount/number of opportunity as someone who cherry-pick their job so they work in the a specialized area? i'd say no (and i'm not making a judgement whether which opportunity is better)

2020-12-19 06:41:49 UTC

we're basically the birth-child of india and china, yeah <:KEK:726877368601411624>

2020-12-19 06:42:05 UTC

If you go to Vancouver it's literally China town

2020-12-19 06:42:19 UTC

I would define opportunity as 2 people applying for the same position, but one of them could afford a degree.

2020-12-19 06:42:47 UTC

I feel like come there to be real

2020-12-19 06:42:50 UTC

Canada

2020-12-19 06:42:56 UTC

Therefore, would the person with the degree be more likely to obtain the position?

2020-12-19 06:43:00 UTC

right. but if the one with degree doesn't have any work experience while the one without degree does?

2020-12-19 06:43:01 UTC

Here is a lot of caveats like one school being noticeably better than another. My point is that hard work always work

2020-12-19 06:43:32 UTC

Reguardless of social class and other factors. If you put in enough hard work, you can achieve the American dream

2020-12-19 06:43:55 UTC

degree.... i dont think that now a days (mostly the leftist) are valuing it

2020-12-19 06:43:57 UTC

It would like how one uses their opportunity and another didnt but I see what your saying

2020-12-19 06:43:57 UTC

like

2020-12-19 06:44:13 UTC

sure. but it also depends on how you present yourself, no? a person with degree that fumbles or unable to do a good interview might not get the job, comparing to the one without, yet have a slick/smooth, charismatic interview

2020-12-19 06:44:36 UTC

Then that's adding another variable to the mix. I try to keep things as simple as possible. If one did have more work experience, then it depends on the job.

2020-12-19 06:44:43 UTC

i really don't think uni actually helps as much as we like to think

2020-12-19 06:45:05 UTC

In Australia and other similar countries? Yes.

2020-12-19 06:45:12 UTC

but wouldnt it depend on the person also... i mean who has the degree

2020-12-19 06:45:14 UTC

like

2020-12-19 06:45:20 UTC

sure. then it also depends on whether the interviewer values work experience over degree?

2020-12-19 06:45:24 UTC

It's only good to appear good on resumes

2020-12-19 06:45:38 UTC

you lie your way through to get a job lol

2020-12-19 06:46:03 UTC

I saw a CBC marketplace on fake degrees

2020-12-19 06:46:08 UTC

the people that i have talked with, the ones who have degree... i came to found out there are 2 kinds of people

2020-12-19 06:46:17 UTC

Would the person with the degree who had more experience not have a better presentation of themselves? I understand the point though, it does raise a good point.

2020-12-19 06:46:23 UTC

I'm wondering how many show hosts have fame degrees lmao

2020-12-19 06:46:49 UTC

It adds more complication to the mix. Yes, it depends on this.

2020-12-19 06:46:54 UTC

1. they are determine and have aspiration and know what and how to use the degree they have
and 2 is.... they are the ones they just do it for it is a degree

2020-12-19 06:47:06 UTC

well. i guess in this scenario (if we really really want to eliminate all variables), we'd need to assume two exact persons (going through everything the same), except one drops out and doesn't have a degree and the other passes

2020-12-19 06:47:13 UTC

People who get gender study degrees <:KEK:726877368601411624>

2020-12-19 06:47:45 UTC

now where are we gonna use that.... for portesting and useless factless debates

2020-12-19 06:47:46 UTC

People who get gender study degrees can only teach gender study degrees using their degree.

2020-12-19 06:48:04 UTC

There are way too many variables and its impossible to have equal chances since crappy teacher is making people dumb, lack of supporting parents

2020-12-19 06:48:17 UTC

not just that.... they cause use it for protesting and debating <:KEK:726877368601411624>

2020-12-19 06:48:21 UTC

So like 1 in 80

2020-12-19 06:48:28 UTC

my dad has zero english skills or degree in canada but he got a ton of experience & quick-learning skills. he got accepted and within 3 years was earning more than his younger colleagues
