Truth is a word that points to the achievement of ones goals, so truth is only important for the goals you are going for. For example if you want to be fatter the truth is you have to eat more. If you want to be skinnier the truth is you either have to eat less or expend more energy.

the ideal that if you work you deserve pay in some way shape or form has nothing to do with religion, the ideal that if someone does harm to you, you should be able to do at least the same out of harm back in a justice setting you know "eye for an eye"and those are just 2 basic principals that don't come from religion
