To fully convince me on free-market capitalism, I have to see it be worked on a macro-scale, not individual choices. But instead, I always see on a macro-scale wages stagnating, net worth dropping, and the cost of living skyrocketing. This is what causes people to gravitate towards Marxism. Telling such people that they are where they are because they arent working hard enough isn't going to win them onto our side. We need a better argument.

@DishonoredRonin I totally agree with you. People want to live like the idiotic celebrities they worship. You don't need to give your children $400 i phones, you don't need to visit Disneyworld every day. I guess at my age (68) I have a completely different take on things. My parents worked hard to pay for a good education for us kids. However, there were many a day I took mustard sandwiches for lunch. As I got older, many years I worked two jobs (put myself thru Hopkins) and sometimes three. The decisions you make WILL impact your future worth. I have many artists friends, who although very talented, pooh=pooh holding down a 9/5 job, now in their 60's they are bitching about not having what I have.
