To fully convince me on free-market capitalism, I have to see it be worked on a macro-scale, not individual choices. But instead, I always see on a macro-scale wages stagnating, net worth dropping, and the cost of living skyrocketing. This is what causes people to gravitate towards Marxism. Telling such people that they are where they are because they arent working hard enough isn't going to win them onto our side. We need a better argument.

I agree. My parents taught me frugality very well. But we're seeing more and more workers struggling not to afford that, but rent

> @DishonoredRonin I totally agree with you. People want to live like the idiotic celebrities they worship. You don't need to give your children $400 i phones, you don't need to visit Disneyworld every day. I guess at my age (68) I have a completely different take on things. My parents worked hard to pay for a good education for us kids. However, there were many a day I took mustard sandwiches for lunch. As I got older, many years I worked two jobs (put myself thru Hopkins) and sometimes three. The decisions you make WILL impact your future worth. I have many artists friends, who although very talented, pooh=pooh holding down a 9/5 job, now in their 60's they are bitching about not having what I have.
@Maggiemac311 Are those people who are struggling to meet their extravagant lifestyle the majority of those complaining about their low wages, or those who work over 40 hours every week and cannot afford basic necessities (food, rent, etc.)

no jobs in baltimore?

Very interesting! I suppose me, a 20-year old growing up in minneapolis suburbs would not understand. I am actually in blue collar work myself.

I do apartment maintenance, not exactly a job that can be moved to another place. Every building needs maintenance.

No. I live and work in apple valley. To get from Minneapolis to apple valley requires traveling through the suburbs or Richfield and Bloomington, crossing the Minnesota river (only drive bridge, no pedestrian), and then the city of eagan before apple valley.

It is weird planning to vote republican. I never imagined voting for this party just two years ago.

I'm not just talking president, but house, senate, etc.

Seeing the democratic party kneel and wear robes and now seeing the leaked body cam footage just blows my mind

yes, released by the daily mail

Sean Fitzgerald's analysis was so good

That's disputed. He had so much inside his body including crystal meth and covid.

Look at all the backup the green new deal received. It's an effective strategy.

No, I don't watch much campus reform

The comments section of every video that covers the exodus of a blue city/state are people claiming that those moving in are voting for the same policies that turned their home state into what it is. I have yet to actually see evidence of these claims.

Rationalwiki's first sentence in their article on the United States says "a very racist country". What a joke.

I am not a fan of the term "Democrat-run cities". Virtually all cities in the US vote blue, with the red in the rural. This is a cool map: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/upshot/election-2016-voting-precinct-maps.html#4.16/41.37/-97.35

One of the memes in today's episode was someone getting a vote by mail ad. I believe that. All I get are Angie Craig ads.

I find it interesting how many scholars believe FDR prolonged the Great Depression, started progressive policies, and was voted in four times.

How do you change the minds of 10 of so people who are committed to vote blue

You make it seem like they are NPCs, but they're not. They know conservative personalities and views. They are fans of breadtube

> the only thing a person with fully made mind change their mind is for their own minds to be changed by themselves.
@HarleyQuinn indeed. It takes something extraordinary for someone's political views to take a 180.

I just looked up the house elections in MN and found out Ilhan Omar won 78% of the vote in 2018. That is insane

If one researches on the Economic Policy Institute or the CATO institute, he or she will form polar opposite opinions.

I believe that the people who make these memes are not socialists. I believe they are social Democrats who look up to countries in Scandinavia

I dont think most agnostics/athiests hate the religious, but instead take problem with religious constraints which attacks other people's rights, hence the endless debate on same-sex marriage and abortion. The image above is my brother and I talking about Karl Popper.

Hypothetical: someone tells you "If you run a business and cannot afford to pay your employees a wage they can live off, you should not be in business." What do you respond with?
