any specific model?

2017-11-06 17:54:14 UTC

all unibody macs

2017-11-06 17:54:17 UTC

macbooks*

2017-11-06 17:54:21 UTC

and macs too

2017-11-06 17:54:38 UTC

have had grounding faults due first designs of the "magsafe"

2017-11-06 17:54:49 UTC

couldnt it just be retards who built up some static and then touch their laptops?

2017-11-06 17:56:05 UTC

nope its serious enough specialy if you touch radiators while touching the macbook

2017-11-06 17:56:18 UTC

wtf lol

2017-11-06 17:56:23 UTC

yep

2017-11-06 17:56:45 UTC

they did fix that on newer models though, hopefully?

2017-11-06 17:56:54 UTC

not that well

2017-11-06 17:57:04 UTC

what about plastic unibody <:benis:239668961011040257>

2017-11-06 17:57:31 UTC

very hi quarity prastic? <:aliOK:251417852156837888>

2017-11-06 17:57:41 UTC

also that it was designed to break in 2 parts

2017-11-06 17:57:58 UTC

this what caused sparks

2017-11-06 17:58:00 UTC

I have an MBP at work, mid 2015 top spec one and I have two power adapters: one with ground and one not. The ungrounded loads the whole macbook surface electrostatically. Hard to describe, like when you touch a CRT screen

2017-11-06 17:58:16 UTC
2017-11-06 17:58:24 UTC

all in normal use

2017-11-06 17:58:34 UTC

the plastic they used for the cord was shit

2017-11-06 17:58:46 UTC

also their insulators were never meant to withstand anyform of bending

2017-11-06 17:58:51 UTC

yeah their charging cables are shit

2017-11-06 17:59:01 UTC

my mom has an iphone and the cable is such a fucking mess

2017-11-06 17:59:07 UTC

so the outer steelmesh layer poked tru to leads and startter melting some plastic

2017-11-06 18:00:02 UTC

that and sparks everytime you connect or disconnect it due too small tolerance on ground-pin

2017-11-06 18:00:11 UTC

sure it happened inside the steelcasing and machine itself

2017-11-06 18:00:31 UTC

but spark is a spark and it can set up flamable (gasses)

2017-11-06 18:00:43 UTC

then there is the legendary eggbaking unibody mistakes

2017-11-06 18:00:47 UTC

og boy were they fun

2017-11-06 18:02:48 UTC

89-100*c on pyrometer while under heavy load

2017-11-06 18:03:00 UTC

only on some patches tho

2017-11-06 18:03:12 UTC

they probly switched to cheaper glu---thermalpaste or something

2017-11-06 18:04:06 UTC

mine, too

2017-11-06 18:04:07 UTC

the two fans are horrible underpowered when it came to heat production of MBB

2017-11-06 18:04:10 UTC

and throttles af

2017-11-06 18:04:21 UTC

and usualy they shipped 1 of them stuck

2017-11-06 18:04:24 UTC

":D"

2017-11-06 18:04:24 UTC

Just looks like it dehydrated the egg tbh

2017-11-06 18:04:31 UTC

is it confirmed that that iphone x faceid while sleeping thing is legit?

2017-11-06 18:04:46 UTC

Do you sleep facing your phone?
