@Sapharanth (moving knife discussion here to not trigger Tribit) if you want to buy ONE knife after your paycheck - Spyderco Endura 4 hands down.

2017-11-12 21:06:56 UTC

@johnfrum#8811 yakitori restaurants ?

2017-11-12 21:06:57 UTC

not necessarily though

2017-11-12 21:07:09 UTC

turkish staffed places are usually gud

2017-11-12 21:07:16 UTC

Don't they ship in US only?

2017-11-12 21:07:43 UTC

@Sapharanth I got all my knives with the exception of a benchmade griptilian locally

2017-11-12 21:07:43 UTC

I have had pretty much opposite experience but this might be because every cheap takeaway in my city is owned by Turks

2017-11-12 21:07:48 UTC

look at your local stores

2017-11-12 21:08:39 UTC

that or teppanyaki ?

2017-11-12 21:08:53 UTC

teppas are the showkitchen

2017-11-12 21:08:58 UTC

@Tervy kind of but not quite, they specialize in stirfrying

2017-11-12 21:09:11 UTC

there the chefs slice their fingers and make greasefires on hoodvents

2017-11-12 21:09:34 UTC

Last week the first Korean hot pot restaurant opened in Switzerland, after the last one went bankrupt in 2010

2017-11-12 21:09:42 UTC

@Cole Well, looking at this knife, I'm not so sure. I don't like nor need the saw, with which the blade seems pretty short, and I [refer a more streamlined shape

2017-11-12 21:09:44 UTC

@fireglow would pet

2017-11-12 21:09:45 UTC

Big kind of clear counter like subways but with raw meat and veg you just point and they throw into a wok

2017-11-12 21:10:04 UTC

I need one knife for EDC and one for camping/a heavy beater

2017-11-12 21:10:16 UTC

it's this

2017-11-12 21:10:19 UTC

literally this

2017-11-12 21:10:24 UTC

what are your ecd knife tasks?

2017-11-12 21:10:33 UTC

wait fuk

2017-11-12 21:10:41 UTC

@porco going to go bankrupt too, only so much novelty in soup.

2017-11-12 21:10:44 UTC

that's serrated version

2017-11-12 21:10:44 UTC

I found this when googling

2017-11-12 21:10:52 UTC

they make the plain edge of course

2017-11-12 21:11:33 UTC

I know a great story about a minister here that made an off hand remark about chinese restaurants on his first working day

2017-11-12 21:11:36 UTC

- extremely light because of the materials used, but quality
- long ass blade in a not so big body
- VG-10 steel: lasts sharp very long, takes a little longer to resharpen but worth it

2017-11-12 21:11:40 UTC

hot pot is not bad

2017-11-12 21:11:53 UTC

Not bad but not worth paying for.

2017-11-12 21:12:08 UTC

Two weeks later 100 raids happened nationwide and millions in fraudulent money were seized

2017-11-12 21:12:08 UTC

@Turbo was it a stray pet joke?

2017-11-12 21:12:22 UTC

Not even

2017-11-12 21:12:32 UTC

Whittling wood, cutting twine, usual box opening, forbidden things like prying, @porco

2017-11-12 21:12:33 UTC

it depends, in Taiwan there are all-you-can-eat hotpots with beer flat rate included which are just super comfy to spend half evening in, talk and eat slow

2017-11-12 21:12:49 UTC

it's not exclusively about the food

2017-11-12 21:13:00 UTC

It was something along the lines of "well those chinese restaurants don't seem that trustworthy haha"
>queue 100 raids

2017-11-12 21:13:01 UTC

And I'm not skilled with sharpening knives, which I'd like to remedy

2017-11-12 21:13:06 UTC

Thought about starting with a wet stone set
