I have been, but it stopped working.

2020-12-30 16:49:53 UTC

oof. your project requires specific woods?

2020-12-30 16:49:55 UTC

Pretty good. I can make any pattern or weave you've seen, mostly stick with bracelets but I've made dog collars and leashes, cat toys, etc

2020-12-30 16:50:50 UTC

Not really, but I don't have a ton of spare wood. I'm not good enough to require specific woods yet lol

2020-12-30 16:52:07 UTC

is local your home depot not open?

2020-12-30 16:53:16 UTC

Working on a board game / dining room table right now.

2020-12-30 16:53:43 UTC

We have a Lowe's, but I'm still quarantined. Mostly I just make little things like a candle stand with a built in slot for a book of matches

2020-12-30 16:53:56 UTC

I really want to graduate to making larger things but I really don't have the space

2020-12-30 16:54:39 UTC

ooh, sounds good. how far along are you with it?

2020-12-30 16:54:39 UTC

I had to get creative. My shed is 10x12,but it stores a bunch of stuff too.

2020-12-30 16:55:21 UTC

makes sense. i'd really love to see you document the stuff you made to see your progress

Table top is glued together

2020-12-30 16:56:41 UTC

I also don't have clamps that large lol

2020-12-30 16:56:46 UTC

That looks awesome though

2020-12-30 16:57:08 UTC

Haha I got those from Facebook market place 🙈

2020-12-30 16:57:09 UTC

that looks AMAZING @Rjd good works. you're leaving it outside?

2020-12-30 16:57:42 UTC

It's inside for now. Just finishing the glue ups for the trestle underside

2020-12-30 16:58:33 UTC

Ideally it will looks like this on the underside. All wood joinery

2020-12-30 16:59:32 UTC

This was the first one I made. Sized it for a large Yankee candle, and you can see where you slide the match box in

What that?

2020-12-30 17:00:28 UTC

Candle holder with a space for you to keep a book of matches

Ow nice!

2020-12-30 17:00:44 UTC

That's pretty awesome @mikeflarkin

2020-12-30 17:00:59 UTC

i had to google what is a yankee candle lmao

wouldn't it be better if there is a circular dip so the glass jar don't slip?

Needly maked

2020-12-30 17:01:42 UTC

I thought about that, but I wasn't confident in my ability to do it well. For the most part though the candles that size aren't moving around a ton

2020-12-30 17:01:46 UTC

looks impressive. have you think about the colour you want to paint it yet?

2020-12-30 17:01:56 UTC

Beautiful work rjd

2020-12-30 17:02:13 UTC

That looks like kind of like the work bench I want to make

2020-12-30 17:03:18 UTC

ah, i see.

my dad has a circular head that attaches to the drill to drill circular holes. if you're interested, i'm sure you can find it online 👍

2020-12-30 17:03:51 UTC

I was thinking more of like a slight depression on the top more than a hole, kind of like a coaster

2020-12-30 17:04:34 UTC

Mostly my projects lately have been "take wood, attach to wall, put things in wood to hang stuff"

2020-12-30 17:07:00 UTC

Paint it? If I were him I’d stain it then put a gloss coat over it.

2020-12-30 17:07:07 UTC

Wood is pretty

2020-12-30 17:07:28 UTC

that would work, too. if you made a circle and just chisel along, i think that would also be nice

2020-12-30 17:07:59 UTC

fair enough

2020-12-30 17:08:59 UTC

See that's better than my option, I was just gonna put on Breaking Bad and grab some sandpaper

2020-12-30 17:09:36 UTC

Hi
