They are comparable.

They both are riots by people who felt their government failed them.

They have been demanding full audits, asking for courts to not dismiss cases and hear them, asking for election transparency and it has fallen of deaf ears.

Wanting a fair election is not an attack in democracy.

2021-01-07 05:22:48 UTC

True.

2021-01-07 05:23:32 UTC

The appearance of unequal justice is what is making many people stand up and protest who normally never would. The fact that it appears that if you are on the left the law does not apply in the same way.

2021-01-07 05:23:36 UTC

This was orchestrated by the president of the USA based on false pretense.

2021-01-07 05:24:20 UTC

i don't remember them storming the capitol building during the summer?

2021-01-07 05:24:27 UTC

No. It’s not his fault they entered the Capitol Building

2021-01-07 05:24:29 UTC

That makes no sense, he asked people to peacefully assemble not to riot.

2021-01-07 05:24:42 UTC

I didn’t know that some violence was okay based solely on who may have condoned it.

2021-01-07 05:24:50 UTC

who told them to go ther all pumped up asking them to "demand asnwers"

2021-01-07 05:25:15 UTC

@SANCTIONED He called for peaceful assembly and protest.

2021-01-07 05:25:16 UTC

okay...did you pay attention to what he was telling them to go ther...

2021-01-07 05:25:32 UTC

no violence is okay.

2021-01-07 05:25:50 UTC

The new thing is when someone asserts something and another person brings up a similar instance when the other side partook in that same behavior it gets that “that’s just whataboutism” response.

But that’s a cop out because we evaluate situations and there merit by looking at equivalent scenarios and how they were received, so it’s not whataboutism, it’s comparing two instances of a similar scenario.

2021-01-07 05:25:54 UTC

Colorado got wailed on about 8 times

2021-01-07 05:25:59 UTC

Colorado capitol*

2021-01-07 05:26:02 UTC

Yes I would have gone myself but I had prior obligations.

2021-01-07 05:26:08 UTC

by telling them he "loves them" go home and Ivanka Trump tweeting "patriots are in the building" come on...

2021-01-07 05:26:08 UTC

That obviously doesn’t mean to break into the Capitol and it’s unreasonable to blame him for that.

2021-01-07 05:26:15 UTC

I never heard anything about competing statutes? I agree that the PA legislature gave some power to Boockvar, but when did they give her the power to make temporary accommodations under extreme circumstances? If it's true, I still don't like what happened, but my blame shifts from the PA SC to the PA legislature. And that would add to the blame that I already have against them for passing the act in the first place. Don't get me wrong-I'm okay with mail in voting And back in Oct 2019. no one thought mail in voting would be a wide spread phenomenon. Trying to set it up in less than six months-it's not going to be good.

2021-01-07 05:26:24 UTC

What-about-ism is the latest version of “shut up”.

2021-01-07 05:26:36 UTC

Phoenix, Seattle, there are like 10 capitol buildings that were stormed and trashed this summer

2021-01-07 05:26:48 UTC

what do you think die hard supporters who want "answers" would do when they go to capitol hill, ask for an appointment ?

2021-01-07 05:26:58 UTC

@SANCTIONED where have you been if you don’t know about this lol

2021-01-07 05:27:44 UTC

Yeah, no where did he say break in.

2021-01-07 05:27:51 UTC

i'm right here...and i've watched it all day unfold, maga's storming the capitol demanding answers and calling it election fraud...

2021-01-07 05:28:02 UTC

Even in many of the forums nobody was circulating that plan.

2021-01-07 05:28:16 UTC

Oh common. That rhetoric is used for every protest.

2021-01-07 05:28:22 UTC

Left or right.

2021-01-07 05:28:30 UTC

not sure anyone shouts "break in" during riiots, maybe they do...i haven't been to one

2021-01-07 05:28:35 UTC

Now lets just let it happen for over 120 days and have governors justify it

2021-01-07 05:28:44 UTC

@SANCTIONED I planned to peacefully protest. I can't speak to others.

2021-01-07 05:28:48 UTC

BLM started because black people felt like nothing was being done about police violence and their government was failing.

This protest happened because trump supporters felt election fraud claims were being dismissed and not taken seriously at all.

Felt like their government had failed them.

If courts had actually allowed discovery, we had actual cases going through the entire process, full sudits had actually been done and ID had been verified none if this would have hsppened.

2021-01-07 05:28:58 UTC

You are conveniently missing my rebuttal of your point. You said you didn’t recall any capitols being stormed over the summer, I gave you a link and several examples.

2021-01-07 05:29:05 UTC

I find it peculiar they were allowed into the building.

2021-01-07 05:29:22 UTC

i missed it, i'm sorry. i'll have a look in just a moment. thanks.

2021-01-07 05:29:52 UTC

No problem, I appreciate the response and the honesty

2021-01-07 05:30:25 UTC

We can’t even protest without it being used against us by the media. So now the electoral votes are still being counted but with little focus.

2021-01-07 05:31:19 UTC

They do.

2021-01-07 05:33:21 UTC

This. When you have a portion of the governed land that perceives a credible threat to their freedoms not being thoroughly investigated or vetted... you’re basically asking for them to rise up and protest.

2021-01-07 05:33:59 UTC

Any time anyone slightly to the right does something it has been reported as though it is the worst ever to the point, I have family that won't speak to me because I am some evil far right wing nutjob. Thier words not mine. I have had friends no longer willing to talk to me for the same reason.
