The new thing is when someone asserts something and another person brings up a similar instance when the other side partook in that same behavior it gets that “that’s just whataboutism” response.

But that’s a cop out because we evaluate situations and there merit by looking at equivalent scenarios and how they were received, so it’s not whataboutism, it’s comparing two instances of a similar scenario.

I never heard anything about competing statutes? I agree that the PA legislature gave some power to Boockvar, but when did they give her the power to make temporary accommodations under extreme circumstances? If it's true, I still don't like what happened, but my blame shifts from the PA SC to the PA legislature. And that would add to the blame that I already have against them for passing the act in the first place. Don't get me wrong-I'm okay with mail in voting And back in Oct 2019. no one thought mail in voting would be a wide spread phenomenon. Trying to set it up in less than six months-it's not going to be good.

BLM started because black people felt like nothing was being done about police violence and their government was failing.

This protest happened because trump supporters felt election fraud claims were being dismissed and not taken seriously at all.

Felt like their government had failed them.

If courts had actually allowed discovery, we had actual cases going through the entire process, full sudits had actually been done and ID had been verified none if this would have hsppened.

You are conveniently missing my rebuttal of your point. You said you didn’t recall any capitols being stormed over the summer, I gave you a link and several examples.

This. When you have a portion of the governed land that perceives a credible threat to their freedoms not being thoroughly investigated or vetted... you’re basically asking for them to rise up and protest.

Any time anyone slightly to the right does something it has been reported as though it is the worst ever to the point, I have family that won't speak to me because I am some evil far right wing nutjob. Thier words not mine. I have had friends no longer willing to talk to me for the same reason.

If they protest and destroy businesses, assault people, or even execute an innocent Trump supporter in the street, the movement is “mostly peaceful”. When a few people out of thousands break into the Capitol and one of them is killed by police, all Trump supporters are terrorists and Trump must be removed.

Yeah, both sides are guilty of this. I have friends on the left and right that vilify the other and it makes it hard to have a level headed conversation.

Hahaha I remember when I was with the Democrats about 12 years ago on anti-privacy stuff from Facebook and other major tech corps... anti big business, and Republicans were the ones saying “companies can do what they want”... I’m still on the anti tech corps side, against censorship and such, but now those same Democrats are the ones defending big tech. It’s so weird

Vandalism issues at a State Capitol Building, not Capitol Hill lol regardless it's wrong. Again, the difference today was an electoral process was taking place & the sitting presidents supporters stormed the building and halted the process. that is an attack on the very fabric of our country. Wrong, the above incident none the less...last whole year has been a wreck.
