Crucifixion was an execution method, particularly brutal and painful and a very public execution method as the crucified would be displayed outside of cities, easily seen by any passing by. It is a particularly accursed death sentence due to its brutality, the slow suffering it inflicts, and the public spectacle it makes.
In the Bible, the Lord God puts his own Word, which is also God, into the flesh of the virgin by his Holy Spirit, this is Jesus. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, and being condemned in a succession of legitimacy first by the wicked jews whom defer their authority to Caesar of Rome whom control the world then defer their own authority upon Jesus proclaiming in writing "King of the Jews" upon the crucifix, to which the wicked jews mourn and attempt to change it, but which Pilate replies what he has written has been wrote.
Jesus is ultimately crucified for the accusation that he is indeed the Truth, the Messiah, and even God himself. Jesus is publicly mocked by the Romans whom plait upon him a crown of thorns and the symbolic purple robe of royal authority, and lead him out to be crucified under the auspices of Caesar's duly appointed Governor Pilate and the Priest class of the jews.

One man tempts Jesus saying if he is the son of God to come down off the cross and take them off also, much like the taunts of the wicked jews. The other man notes that they deserve to be upon the crucifix for what they have done, but that Jesus really hasn't done anything worthy of such an extreme punishment, and believing Jesus, asks him to remember him when Jesus comes to his duly appointed Kingdom, to which Jesus affirms he shall.
