I don't see how the implications have any grounds to stand on. Especially with the multiple forms of valid State/Federal IDs that you get eventually

2020-11-04 18:22:53 UTC

ah i missed your earlier comments yes you are correct

2020-11-04 18:23:34 UTC

@DeathRhodes666 there is no point arguing with me about it lol, you preaching to the choir

2020-11-04 18:23:39 UTC

you would need i.d you'd get your key and every vote would be accounted for you would be able to confirm it yourself

2020-11-04 18:24:19 UTC

@realz fair haha. Guess I need to do some internet browsing to try and find any logical grounds for not having voter ID

2020-11-04 18:24:49 UTC

There are some good ancillary arguments of general voter suppression

2020-11-04 18:26:25 UTC

I think that a moderate democrat could be convinced to change their focus from banning voter ID requirements, to requiring the government to ensure free ID enfranchisement

2020-11-04 18:26:51 UTC

im not from the u.s but we have cheap i.d you can get from any police station in australia that serves no other purpose other than as identification for those that don't drive

2020-11-04 18:26:57 UTC

Getting an ID in NYC took me an entire afternoon(12-5pm) and something like 60 bucks

2020-11-04 18:27:03 UTC

That is insane

2020-11-04 18:27:21 UTC

Yeah that's a bit ridiculous. Bureaucracy at its finest haha.

2020-11-04 18:27:34 UTC

FL was the best experience with ID

2020-11-04 18:27:48 UTC

Felt like 5 minutes and the fee was miniscule

2020-11-04 18:28:32 UTC

PA was midling

2020-11-04 18:28:39 UTC

I had to wait a while

2020-11-04 18:28:44 UTC

the only problem is you need a home address, birth certificate and a Tax file number (social security number?) so that would be just as difficult to aqquire for some

2020-11-04 18:28:51 UTC

Can't recall the fee but it wasn't insane

2020-11-04 18:29:23 UTC

PA is a little annoying (current resident). Not on New York levels though

2020-11-04 18:29:49 UTC

you could find an easy work around...if they wanted a solution to the problem

2020-11-04 18:29:51 UTC

PA raise your hand đź‘‹

2020-11-04 18:30:26 UTC

@TacitusKilgore yea right now everyone is arguing about that issue in bad faith

2020-11-04 18:30:28 UTC

@TacitusKilgore they absolutely could. I wouldn't imagine it to be very hard to lay out some general rules that aply to everyone

2020-11-04 18:30:50 UTC

But I think headway could be made if they worked together

2020-11-04 18:31:02 UTC

But there is no real incentive to right now

2020-11-04 18:31:11 UTC

It's perfect issue for both sides

2020-11-04 18:31:17 UTC

no both parties think they benefit

2020-11-04 18:31:57 UTC

Point being, blockchain or whatever doesn't stand a chance currently

2020-11-04 18:32:40 UTC

nah, technological changes take massive effort to implement to governmental procedures

2020-11-04 18:32:49 UTC

So I am just gonna throw out the fact that democracies are designed to last 150 years and we are going on how many on this one? I can’t help but feel this is a test of the fabric of our democratic method and is perhaps the most “tested” our democracy has been. <In my opinion >

2020-11-04 18:32:55 UTC

they're always very resistant to change

2020-11-04 18:33:17 UTC

I don't think it has anything to do with some deadline

2020-11-04 18:33:43 UTC

Technological change

2020-11-04 18:33:57 UTC

sometimes i think i'm getting a insight into how Rome looked before the fall

2020-11-04 18:34:14 UTC

I think people see patterns too much

2020-11-04 18:34:17 UTC

massive political corruption, excess etc lol

2020-11-04 18:34:29 UTC

The rome trope raises my skeptical meters to full

2020-11-04 18:34:31 UTC

yeah i mean it in jest really

2020-11-04 18:35:31 UTC

heh the similarities are interesting if you over analyse it lol
