@Maw I am more concerned about the lack of respect toward other viewpoints - it seems to be the cause of most problems in the human experience. Making all differences binary. Good/Bad, Right/Left, Right/Wrong, Us/Them... Now it has become Different - Bad and I find it exhausting. If we were all alike, life would be boring. I think we can do better and it starts with being able to getting back to Different is just Different.

Me too, I feel like Robert is a special person, a rare personality even. I am not sure what to do if I find myself not disagreeing with nearly anything he says (that is usually a bad sign) and even when I did disagree with him on something, he convinced me to his side pretty much. I say he is special because he has a crazy skill of coming across as fair and open to compromise, and having a special empathy that is larger than most people. Am I in a cult?

The general goals of the left and the right are similar, just they get into their echo chambers and see the worst of both sides.
