50 gallons of oil is equivalent to 30 years of human work +- or something.

The original message I was trying to reply to was specifically about online voting. I was merely mentioning that it is insanely insecure and that the attack surface is huge. I agree we don't accuse people for stealing from an atm without evidence but atms are actually fairly hardened devices. But a website for online voting is really soft.

2020-11-27 19:42:07 UTC

No. For the love of God I do not want to imagine that.

2020-11-27 19:42:16 UTC

Recognition can lead to proxy wars @Zuluzeit it's anything but a small statement.

2020-11-27 19:42:52 UTC

The world would go nuts. Or even more nuts I should say 😂

2020-11-27 19:43:17 UTC

I stutter to think lol

2020-11-27 19:43:20 UTC

See: Taiwan.

2020-11-27 19:43:43 UTC

Why do I find that thought hilarious 🙈

2020-11-27 19:44:02 UTC

🤣

2020-11-27 19:45:59 UTC

@Maw Not a small statement but a far cry from 'a proclamation declaring sovereignty'. Isreal already did that, long ago.

2020-11-27 19:46:36 UTC

It's usually seen as a way to intervene in foreign conflict, @Zuluzeit

2020-11-27 19:46:54 UTC

E.g: If China made a push on Taiwan, the US would likely intervene.

2020-11-27 19:47:45 UTC

One would think but no intervention was made in Hong Kong.

2020-11-27 19:47:52 UTC

Even with Biden in charge?

2020-11-27 19:47:53 UTC

@Maw He must have a reason at this late hour. Maybe something is about to happen.

2020-11-27 19:48:21 UTC

Good point

2020-11-27 19:48:22 UTC

Or maybe he is stirring the pot.

2020-11-27 19:48:37 UTC

Pulling lynch pins.

2020-11-27 19:48:38 UTC

Hong Kong wasn't in actual war, last I checked.

2020-11-27 19:48:52 UTC

Neither is China with Taiwan ?

2020-11-27 19:49:04 UTC

China has made war moves on Taiwan.

2020-11-27 19:49:08 UTC

I think UK should have stood up for Hong Kong?

2020-11-27 19:49:11 UTC

Quite frequently in 2020.

2020-11-27 19:49:35 UTC

It's why the US has such a strong presence there.

2020-11-27 19:49:45 UTC

Taiwan ain't Tibet. It's more tricky.

2020-11-27 19:49:46 UTC

Trying to prod at them a lot I’ve noticed

2020-11-27 19:49:56 UTC

War moves are different from being at war. The conflict truly is more surrounding the disputed man made islands near Taiwan

2020-11-27 19:50:56 UTC

@AdamS wars are fantastic

2020-11-27 19:50:58 UTC

@AntiFish03 what do you think about mail men with a cop or some legal authority , with a camera going door to door over the span of a month , and also in person voting

2020-11-27 19:51:25 UTC

For the people who profit from them

2020-11-27 19:51:27 UTC

And the whole Hong Kong conflict has ended up costing us (Britain) we’ve opened up citizenship for 4m honk kong citizens.

2020-11-27 19:51:45 UTC

Making hostile moves in violation of someone's sovereignty is a moment's notice from a declaration of war imho.

2020-11-27 19:52:02 UTC

I know my mum was ranting to me about that a few weeks ago

2020-11-27 19:52:18 UTC

I’m still ranting about it.

2020-11-27 19:52:31 UTC

But where are they going to house them for starters

2020-11-27 19:52:50 UTC

I can guarantee you Taiwan will not just allow China in.

2020-11-27 19:52:52 UTC

I don’t blame you

2020-11-27 19:52:58 UTC

There will be a conflict most likely.

2020-11-27 19:53:03 UTC

🤷‍♂️

2020-11-27 19:53:39 UTC

That is probably why they are doing military exercises isn’t it?

2020-11-27 19:54:17 UTC

It's defensive posturing yes.
