You can argue the samples are biased.
Most ppl are within 1 stdev of the mean
You can argue the samples are too small.
Massachusetts has 7 million people. In order for them to have such a high state iq they cannot rely on savants alone. They need the general population to not drown them out
And they don’t
You should look at the difference between the country as a whole and the individual states not different states against each other
@robxtom, you just advanced to level 2!
What test gives a savante a high IQ?
because they score rather low on WAIS
Is this a veiled qannon discussion?
@TaLoN132 no, its just one of those things everyone thinks they understand.
It’s amazing
I seriously cannot understand this argument.
I knew a lady who writes programs for psychometrics at UNC Chapel Hill. One of the most fascinating people I ever knew...but it got complicated :(
Well at least there's that folks have to be Nostradamus to decipher Q.
I lost the reference... Sorry.
If you picked anyone off the street, the chances of them having an IQ of 100 are the best odds.
(Assuming this is the street of the world)
100 is the best bet by definition of it. It moves.
Again, it's relating to the world.
@Maw but due to what is called the reverse flynn effect, you should guess somewhat over for the aging generation, and somewhat lower for the younger.
Is this a General IQ discussion or are you alluding to an individual?
They are a little off track today but they usually share some common ground
It's relating to a discussion on IQ and statistical analysis.
@Doc That's what they are doing but I was surprised at how few people are actually doing the work.
Certainly regions can have different average IQ scores.
IQ is connected to culture, so....yes.
Good folks with mean IQ"s live happier lives?
It's likely due to genes if anything.
Genes and culture.
IQ is cultural
It's much more so about what you choose to measure.
Which is cultural, I reckon.
