Also administrative positions are not nearly as political as politicians

2020-12-01 03:15:26 UTC

They are just math nerds

2020-12-01 03:15:36 UTC

Have you ever actually worked in an it environment

2020-12-01 03:16:04 UTC

An IT environment?

2020-12-01 03:16:06 UTC

I could just see so much going wrong with out some way to verify what's going on in those computers. And I'm not even saying conspiracy I'm saying just mistakes

2020-12-01 03:16:29 UTC

Yeah high up in a few different fortune 500 companies

2020-12-01 03:16:50 UTC

Okay or maybe you understand more about what's going on with these voting systems than I do.

2020-12-01 03:17:05 UTC

Without a way to verify how they're being maintained we don't really know

2020-12-01 03:17:22 UTC

A bunch of flash drives in his pocket dropping them out in the parking lot

2020-12-01 03:17:24 UTC

I mean it's not exactly the same as servers I work on but the concept seems similar to audit appliances we use

2020-12-01 03:17:29 UTC

I don't know

2020-12-01 03:17:32 UTC

Do we know they don't have a way?

2020-12-01 03:17:40 UTC

I mean it could be a top-notch system

2020-12-01 03:18:03 UTC

But it seems like they would be trotting that inside out front and center

2020-12-01 03:18:34 UTC

I'll tell you typically organization sit on data breaches and hope they don't come out because they don't want their stock price to drive...

2020-12-01 03:18:43 UTC

I don't act in good faith as they should

2020-12-01 03:18:51 UTC

Idk man. Seems like the kind of thing I would clip a guy for in order to suppress it for the purpose of claiming fraud.

2020-12-01 03:18:52 UTC

Or they don't know about the breach until sometime after

2020-12-01 03:19:04 UTC

I looked at what I could publically they dont put white papers and such as some products it's more secret but basic features are listed

2020-12-01 03:19:10 UTC

There's just so many scenarios

2020-12-01 03:20:01 UTC

Paper trails are gold standard voters check the receipts it gets locked up

2020-12-01 03:20:02 UTC

My overall point is there's got to be something better... a trust system that no one trusts is worthless

2020-12-01 03:20:17 UTC

Georgia hand counted the print outs

2020-12-01 03:20:21 UTC

Definitely there should be a way for a voter to verify what their vote is

2020-12-01 03:20:40 UTC

Even with a hand count you don't know if you received fraudulent ballots

2020-12-01 03:20:48 UTC

And what about the input in the touch screen

2020-12-01 03:21:03 UTC

In the past I voted like that it never got any kind of paper verification and I felt weird about it at the time

2020-12-01 03:21:22 UTC

Before this election Georgia recount had no paper trail the machine counted them all and they yelled at their computer "check it again" and push a button and get the same result

2020-12-01 03:21:26 UTC

Honestly we don't know if our vote counts

2020-12-01 03:22:40 UTC

The newer dominion machines you select your votes it prints them you check and it gets locked

2020-12-01 03:22:44 UTC

If we don't collectively as a country figure out a way to make sure this doesn't happen in the future we are not very smart

2020-12-01 03:23:32 UTC

At my voting location they must you old style because there is no paper output...

2020-12-01 03:23:38 UTC

Or a different system

2020-12-01 03:23:57 UTC

Fooling the paper count is super hard and whatever you are doing would create the same problem with paper ballots

2020-12-01 03:24:04 UTC

But even with paper it would be nice to go back and look like

2020-12-01 03:24:12 UTC

Like I can look up a Bitcoin transaction

2020-12-01 03:24:29 UTC

Make sure what doesn't happen?

2020-12-01 03:24:41 UTC

Multi check for the end user

2020-12-01 03:25:30 UTC

There's got to be a country in the world that actually gets this right?

2020-12-01 03:25:39 UTC

Right?

2020-12-01 03:25:45 UTC

Maybe
