Then why are your papers constantly reporting about Trump, what the US is doing, and constantly talking about American politics?
Because it’s a circus!
How do you like the new Obama administration?
more often than not people *demanding* a yes or no answer are setting you up for at rap
Because America has so much influence.
so i want to skip the games and get to the f*ing point hes trying to make
I didn't watch the entire MI hearing today, but the one election "expert" that talked for a long time towards the end never once mentioned the number of votes and repeatedly said that Detroit that 72% should be considered invalid because it didn't balance.
Nobody is talking about how the US is leading in healthcare in the fight against the pandemic.
What?
Why are you dodging a simple opinion question? @ImNotGas there is no trap I just want to see what your conclusion is about the likelihood of Giuliani asking for a pardon
That's not a determiner of influence.
@AdamS Turkey is no longer an ally of the West. And Europe is as divided in ideology as is the US at this point.
I can dm you real cases...believe me where the US has left others have stepped in.
I've obviously stated that i think its bullshit
Sure, I'm well aware of some of these cases, this doesn't mean the US is any less influential.
and then you told me to read the article
which had nothing in it
The entire reason the US is influential to begin with is because they have a monstrously-large military and they get involved in world politics.
instead of addressing any of the arguments i made
@ImNotGas I’m not asking about wether or not the article meets your standards of being reliable. I’m asking about if you think what is being reported is likely or unlikely
Believe me, it is. You can believe it isn’t but when countries use sanctions as a badge of honour it’s evident influence is eroding.
Who can leverage our GPD to realign alliances to ensure our national security?
You're overlooking the basic fact of influence is largely military.
@AdamS I understand the interest of a large number of Americans to withdraw somewhat from other people's problems. I oppose it, but the respite may be good economically for US. However, I also agree that the recession of the Pax Americana is the invitation to a Pax Arabica, Pax Persae, Pax Sarmatia, or Pax Sinensis - the latter being most likely.
May not be an ally of the west it’s still pet of NATO and looking for full EU membership. Yes Europe is divided.
Money makes the world go round.
@AdamS If Europe has any ethical self interest, it will deny Turkey that standing.
America will save a lot of money if it ends its endless wars.
@PrivateEye I prefer to think of monies as merely the oil in the capital engine.
Keep in mind anonymous sources that were maligned in the past have come out to confirm who they were @ImNotGas
It should, but it won’t. No country is truly ethical. We can sell bombs to the Saudis so why wouldn’t we let turkey into the Eu
Not any more. Other nations have large military forces too. The bullying tactic no longer works.
@AdamS Certainly, however, our wars and our media are the method of our domination in world affairs. There are trade-offs.
I beg to differ.
That’s understandable.
No one has a military close to the size and budget that the US does.
Appeasement and apology is going to be our downfall.
