Depends who’s steering the nation.

2020-12-04 07:47:25 UTC

That's what I was afraid of.

2020-12-04 07:48:03 UTC

Like the morning sun you come and like the wind you go...

If the entire nation followed the Great Law of Peace, life would be better. Take for example section 107 which states that, if one leaves thieir home, place a slanting stick upon the home. This is to identify that no one is present and no one who is not entitled to enter, day or night, if forbidden to enter.

2020-12-04 07:48:34 UTC

I actually do this, though no one around here probably knows it

2020-12-04 07:49:07 UTC

I think that’s a fair assessment. What’s got me curious is whether there will be backlash on these (primarily) dem politicians who changed some election rules in the past few months. That’s what seems sketchy to me.

2020-12-04 07:49:58 UTC

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter?

2020-12-04 07:51:32 UTC

That's idealistic and more likely to occur in the Nature realm of things. That could work for those who head out of the city structure, systems of work, taxation and live off the land.

2020-12-04 07:52:08 UTC

I think that both sides made changes - Raffensberger in GA made accommodations for the pandemic and the PA Rep led legislature passed Act 77. Most of them were acting to make it easier to vote - especially during this time. I think that's a good thing.

2020-12-04 07:54:37 UTC

Eh, it remains to be seen whether those changes were truly beneficial. The WI case (I believe) where the guy (his name is escaping me) posted on Facebook guiding people through the loophole to avoid ID seemed questionable at the very least.

2020-12-04 07:55:15 UTC

Showing an id to vote is a pretty low bar IMO.

2020-12-04 07:55:24 UTC

To this day, the Six Nations, still honor and practice the Great Law. Even the Treaty of Canandaigua of 1794 is still in effect and honored by the U.S. I'm not certain but believe it is one on the longest standing treaties in existance.

2020-12-04 07:56:16 UTC

Yes these were last minute changes, could be for the purpose of easier voting, however perhaps some of the changes did not follow original protocols as written in county procedures. Or changes were made for "other" reasons to win at all costs.

2020-12-04 07:58:17 UTC

I haven’t heard much about the Raffensburg changes. I’ll have to do some googling I suppose. The question is whether the changes conflict with preexisting laws. That case seems to be the strongest yet.

2020-12-04 08:00:27 UTC

Interesting on the Six Nations and Great Law. Will need to research this further online

2020-12-04 08:01:03 UTC

use phrenology for id purposes, many data points

2020-12-04 08:04:58 UTC

gn all, enjoy the discussions

2020-12-04 08:07:24 UTC

Anybody familiar with the work of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn?

2020-12-04 08:08:28 UTC

@TW20 Note that Lacrosse is very popular among the Six Nations, as it originated from the Haudenosaunee

2020-12-04 08:08:49 UTC

I don't think that was the point. I think they assume that most are older and might not have the means/ability to scan in their ID and submit it. I have been trying to see if I can see what the WI requirements and procedures are... because I also wanted to see if it was possible to change the mailing address, because it occurred to me that they might not for an IC, because they are specifically asking since they are home. If they can't specify a different address, then what the hell are they complaining about.

2020-12-04 08:09:13 UTC

It is said, jokingly, that the women do all the work and all the men do is play lacrosse LOL

2020-12-04 08:10:30 UTC

Fantastic point if true

2020-12-04 08:10:30 UTC

@Bey Didn't the eldest woman in the village determine which male would represent them in the Great Council? It's been a while so I might be misremembering.

2020-12-04 08:11:57 UTC

The council of women select the chief

2020-12-04 08:12:36 UTC

There are a coucil of women and a council of men

2020-12-04 08:12:57 UTC

but the women are the ones who make the political decisions

2020-12-04 08:13:34 UTC

when the council of women make a decicion, it is relayed to the council of men to have them execute their decision.

2020-12-04 08:14:16 UTC

the Haudenosaunee are a matriarchal society

2020-12-04 08:16:20 UTC

unlike the way the American system is, decisions must be unaminous

2020-12-04 08:16:48 UTC

Andrew yang ?

2020-12-04 08:20:20 UTC

Have you heard the saying that a single arrow breaks easy, but a bundle of arrows are strong and do not break? That comes from the Great Law of Peace, where each arrow represents one of the Six Nations.

2020-12-04 08:20:47 UTC

2020-12-04 08:22:27 UTC

Thanksgiving originated with the Haudenosaunee and still practiced, but there are many thanksgivings.

2020-12-04 08:23:19 UTC

And the Three Sisters... corn, squash and beans.

2020-12-04 08:23:27 UTC

2020-12-04 08:25:31 UTC

Didn't you say only barbarians use firearms?

2020-12-04 08:25:55 UTC

What about the Great Leap forward?

2020-12-04 08:26:26 UTC

And yet you say more Wars are needed...

2020-12-04 08:26:55 UTC

Only government should possess weapons of war
