If the original ratio of Representatives to constituents called for in the Constitution was restored it would go a long way towards making elections cheaper. A knock on the door and a firm handshake are worth a thousand ads.

That was a terrible response. In the past open ballot systems have been rife with voter intimidation, blackmail, vote buying and other issues. You dont want to be the 1 guy in a town that voted against the guy everyone else did resulting in like an angry mob or something. Its especially bad as the govt possibly becomes more fascist. Think political prisoners etc. So we let people vote in secret.

Misfeasance is the act of engaging in an action or duty but failing to perform the duty correctly. Misfeasance refers to an action that is unintentional. However, malfeasance is the willful and intentional act of doing harm. @Zuluzeit
