Do you know what the public would think right now if Kyle weren't going through the criminal justice system?

2020-12-13 19:54:11 UTC

This is one of the things that frustrates @Zuluzeit to no end. @Zuluzeit has a low tolerance for hollow pageantry, although @Zuluzeit understands the utility of it.

2020-12-13 19:55:11 UTC

Contacting state legislators is something else entirely, and I agree it's not a good thing.

2020-12-13 19:55:49 UTC

Yeah the candidates arent supposed to be getting the people running the election to fix it for then. The level of abuse Trump took this to is despicable and despotic.

2020-12-13 19:55:49 UTC

I don't mean to say they aren't handling it properly in court. I'm saying the public has their version of what happened. So let them say it and show it. But COME ON with the mile long coincidences/convenient decisions. Ex. Georgia not being able to show the chain of custody until January 19th, 2021?

2020-12-13 19:57:04 UTC

He was calling state and national Congress. Calling governors. Calling local folks like in the wayne county deal. Calling on people to support the Texas lawsuit.

2020-12-13 19:57:13 UTC

You are so missing the point here. Kyle is going through the courts as a criminal defendant. His rights are being protected (at least we hope)... but its the goal.

As to Trump the major issue is him going to the State Legislatures with these Melissa Carone types in an attempt to undermine confident in our Democracy.

What is the goal? It clearly is not linked to what is happening in Court.

The goal is to get enough State Legislatures or Governors to either not certify or send 2 sets of Electors so that no candidate makes it to 270. Thus sending it to the House where he hopes he has a real shot.

That IS SEDITION - Its happening in bad faith.

2020-12-13 19:57:58 UTC

As to Kyle.... that little idiot should have his grandma ring his ears for putting himself in that moronic situation but so far from what I have seen it looks like Self Defense to me.

2020-12-13 19:58:14 UTC

There were a lot of other witnesses besides Melissa Carone who seemed a lot more credible.... they weren't all 'crazys'

2020-12-13 19:58:28 UTC

Well that's sort of your opinion of what he's doing. He could very well believe he was cheated. In fact, he probably does given his nature. The point I'm trying to make is you want these things litigated so you don't tank public trust in the institutions.

2020-12-13 19:58:55 UTC

I'd love to see your proof of this being bad faith though.

2020-12-13 19:58:59 UTC

If Obama pulled a fraction of this like calling up a governor of a state Romney won and then they were like eh we decided to not certify this state something is wrong.

2020-12-13 19:59:08 UTC

Bad faith is harder to prove than voter fraud.

2020-12-13 19:59:37 UTC

Free Speech is a Double Edged Sword. He is not asking for something outside what is prescribed by Law?

2020-12-13 20:00:55 UTC

Yes the things he was asking for were outside the scope of what they should be doing legally. But even if they weren't intimidating people in charge of the election into doing things for you still a nono

2020-12-13 20:01:39 UTC

@JD~Jordan Can I get your take on Swalwell since your response is often how people don't get the point followed by your belief of it being treason or sedition

2020-12-13 20:02:07 UTC

I can legally give someone my wallet with all my money but if someone says give me your wallet or I'll find out where your children go to school that's a different story 😂

2020-12-13 20:02:12 UTC

@William Dinan could the state courts have set a legal precedent where state law no longer has to be followed?

2020-12-13 20:02:23 UTC

What did he ask Legislators to do that was in violation of Law?

2020-12-13 20:02:38 UTC

You can also yell fire in a theater

2020-12-13 20:02:44 UTC

If nobody is in it

2020-12-13 20:03:00 UTC

Also pretty sure this was overturned semi-recently.

2020-12-13 20:04:25 UTC

Its tanked already on that side and that is the problem.....

Seriously go back and look at videos of interviews of Trump supporters BEFORE the election. The Overwhelming majority said that if Trump loses it was because the Democrats stole the election. But if Trump wins it means that Democrats' efforts did not work.

And Trump helped sow this sort of distrust early on. Its not clear to me as to whether he was doing it as an excuse so that when he lost he could say "It was those damn shady mail in ballots. I didnt really lose, but I need to work on my golf game. I conceded, best of luck with that heaping pile of shit I left ya Joe."

OR..... this was his plan what is happening right now:

Tell all his supporters to vote in person. Whatever you do, do not vote by mail. Go to the polls.

Then tries to force the states that were doing the mail in ballots to count those AFTER the in person ballots were counted.

Declare early victory before the States ever had a chance to even count the mail in ballots (which he knew would be heavily skewed toward Biden).

2020-12-13 20:04:26 UTC

Election board he asked them not to certify they didnt have that authority. Governors he asked the same they are supposed to follow the law. Secretary of state he asked the same they are supposed to follow the law. He was pressuring the scotus to do his bidding and other judges. They are supposed to follow the law. Legislatures dont have the power to steal the election under the law. He was pressuring them to.

The Means of establishing Electors is Established by the US Constitution. State Courts are not the Venue to answer that question. Elections and Electors Law are Two Separate Issues.

2020-12-13 20:05:34 UTC

I'm not sure whether Trump actually believes there was fraud. Same for the lawyers...but I do know the lawyers know evidence chaff when they are piling it into court filings. It would have been more compelling to me if they would have observed more deference to legally substantial evidence.

2020-12-13 20:06:25 UTC

I could be wrong, but this is something I heard word-of-mouth.

2020-12-13 20:06:47 UTC

I honestly haven't read much about it. I have seen his name in headlines but I truly do not even know what its about. I will be happy to take a look in a bit.... do you have a link you can send me?

2020-12-13 20:06:52 UTC

I haven't confirmed it.

2020-12-13 20:07:20 UTC

@Maw .... I got lost a bit there.... what was overturned in regards to screaming Fire in a Theater?

2020-12-13 20:07:44 UTC

Who picks the electors

2020-12-13 20:08:08 UTC

Elections Laws are argued in State Court. Electors Laws are argued in the US Federal Court's. If one State challenges another State on the Electors Clause it is before the US Supreme Court.

2020-12-13 20:08:17 UTC

Yes, there are numerous reasons to tell them to vote in person and not by mail. Democrats caught on to this later on, but eventually were pushing for more in person voting because they finally figured out what Trump was saying and that their push for mail in voting was in mild error.

2020-12-13 20:08:20 UTC

It's become like screaming COMMIES in a crowded chat. No one cares anymore.

2020-12-13 20:08:46 UTC

Has anyone seen that this guy is filing with SCOTUS as well? I don't recall seeing anyone talking about this, but this is the guy that created email. He's not a part of the Trump team either...

2020-12-13 20:08:56 UTC

Wait... what are we talking about being overturned. I'm confused because it appears that was a response to being able to yell fire in a theater (I added if it was empty) but are you talking ablit something else? @Maw because @JD~Jordan responded as though it was for Rittenhouse.

2020-12-13 20:09:15 UTC

Two separate conversations.
