> Who is contesting the economy took a turn for the worst. I mean the stock market did well. I feel bad for the people that sold
@james j Yeah, it's almost like the stock market isn't a *perfect* metric for determining how well people are doing. Almost. Lol

We stopped funding research on bats and coronavirus in China @RoseRN

2020-12-19 16:37:20 UTC

@Zuluzeit right

2020-12-19 16:37:48 UTC

the stock market is inflated by a small number of huge companies, companies that do very well when everyone is locked down

2020-12-19 16:38:26 UTC

Yes billionaires made a ton of money during the lockdowns

2020-12-19 16:38:33 UTC

Sweet

Wow! Alot of good stuff here. Is better than you tube. Loving Gruler for putting all this together. I am learning so much. WHO took a hit for sure, James. Good talk, y'all. Gotta go. Keep it up. Absolutely loving the dialogue

2020-12-19 16:39:05 UTC

@RoseRN talk later

2020-12-19 16:39:15 UTC

Be well. Stay safe.

Not a thing? GOP only wished it was true? Sure that attorney Lin Wood just made it up, since he has no idea of the laws in Georgia - oh wait, he's licensed in Georgia, residing in Atlanta. @RobertGrulerEsq I think this would be an excellent topic to cover in one of your broadcast - GOP Federal suit basically aimed at compelling Georgia to follow their own election laws in reference to the run off election being thrown out for lack of standing. The Law and Crime article doesn't bother to reference Georgia LAW - and seems all the comments are about GOP trying to **suppress the vote**.

If you weren't entitled (registered to vote in GA) in time for the general - you can't vote in the run-off seems to be the point.

2020-12-19 16:44:50 UTC

I wonder how Robert feels about Lin Wood. Hopefully he weighs in.

2020-12-19 16:49:10 UTC

That seems to be up to a Legal Determination of what that Law means? That is a State Law Question and not a Federal one. Only a Federal Question would be if State Law violated the US Constitution?

2020-12-19 16:50:31 UTC

@Zuluzeit Those tweets from Wood directed at Chief Justice Roberts are wild. Being the Wood is big on defamation suits it's really weird that he'd claim Roberts was compromised & needed to step down. The reference to a John Roberts on Jeffrey Epstein's flight log was a bit over the top but to claim he has a recording of Roberts talking about getting that mother f'er Trump out of office before the election took place sounds like an abuse of authority if true.

2020-12-19 16:51:08 UTC

If they suppressed the vote by passing that law, we should expect Texas to be back at SCOTUS. They seemed particularly concerned about the Senate, no?

2020-12-19 16:52:56 UTC

@ScienceUnbiased A lot of made up things would be bad if true. We've seen a tiny handful of them lately.

2020-12-19 16:54:29 UTC

Isn't passing Laws forbidding Felons actually suppressing the Vote? I believe this has already been challenged and addressed?

2020-12-19 16:55:26 UTC

Not sure if one thing is disallowed that anything goes.

2020-12-19 16:56:44 UTC

Maybe they thought of that. If I don't know, any claim is valid until proven otherwise. That's how it works, as I've recently come to understand

2020-12-19 16:56:58 UTC

The GA constitution is clear. They are not allowed to vote unless they voted in the November elections. After the 2018 elections stacy abrams filed a huge lawsuit to get all the rules relaxed because she lost. (https://apnews.com/article/62652c2d9fd24145b5a1ff82b1c26036) The governor settled quietly and relaxed most of the rules. The argument is whether he had the right to do that. it seams to stem from a belief he was able to given he had emergency powers because of covid.

2020-12-19 16:57:19 UTC

My point is that calling something "suppression" doesn't automatically makes it illegal?

2020-12-19 16:58:30 UTC

> My point is that calling something "suppression" automatically makes it illegal?
@William Dinan That's a bizarre question but you're welcome to ask it.

2020-12-19 16:59:48 UTC

Maybe Texas will file and find out, since it is definitely their business.

2020-12-19 16:59:53 UTC

I don't know if a lower court dismissed a previous case or if the Fed one was 1st filing - unless some legal posturing involved a reasonable person would think if you didn't live in and weren't registered before the GENERAL election - you would not legally be able to vote in any run-off elections that followed. Whether felons are allowed to vote varies from state to state, as it currently stands some lose the right forever, some get voting restored after probation or parole period, in some states they can vote FROM prison. In GA the right to vote restored after prison, parole and probation.

2020-12-19 16:59:53 UTC

@ScienceUnbiased, you just advanced to level 1!

2020-12-19 17:00:13 UTC

Compelling Government Interests may see bizarre.

2020-12-19 17:01:36 UTC

Even I think Lin Wood is a nutter 🖕🏼

2020-12-19 17:02:14 UTC

Or does it simply say that that same rules that applied to the General Election also apply to the Runoff Election?

2020-12-19 17:03:16 UTC

Yes and that is what makes it a State issue not a Federal one.

2020-12-19 17:03:46 UTC

hes either insanely mad or a true hero, there is no in between

2020-12-19 17:04:17 UTC

Tough call. Coin flip, I reckon.

2020-12-19 17:04:43 UTC

I sense the sarcasm 🙈

2020-12-19 17:04:48 UTC

Lol

2020-12-19 17:04:49 UTC

i think there are easier ways to make money than becoming enemy no.1

2020-12-19 17:04:54 UTC

Like most issues there may be some Gray.

2020-12-19 17:04:55 UTC

Very bad.

2020-12-19 17:05:25 UTC

The law looks to be that you're not entitled to vote in the runoff unless you're also entitled to vote in the November election. So any registration of voters between the November election and the runoff are not allowed to vote. However if you could have voted and chose not to in the November election the law seems to allow for you to vote in the runoff. Again that's just based on what was posted here in this thread.

2020-12-19 17:06:15 UTC

Correct. It makes the point that some of that stimulus money from the first time around hasn't been spent yet. About $600 billion is what I understand. So why are we working on another stimulus package when we haven't spent the money from the first time around?
