Sue for fees too. Next...
Well, that fizzled out. Kinda bummed.
So I'm wondering about the OCR matching thresholds of signatures. Was that threshold prescribed by law or was that up to each precinct?
Gotta remember, litigation is ridiculously expensive for your average person.
Especially if you want quality representation.
And if you're going against the government, you'll want quality litigation.
Meh. The cause is the greater concern. Beats 'civil war' no?
This is why class actions are a thing. I'm afraid I don't know much about class actions outside of a corporate sense though.
True but could that not become more Class action type of thing or can that not happen vers the state?
LOL
Lol parallel thinking
Class actions get a little bit wonky with standing, but still, I think injury has to be proven.
I am not a lawyer though, and this is mere speculation and for the good of debate.
E.g: Protestors from Portland do have a form of standing for filing a lawsuit against the government because there are actual injuries (physical) that occurred.
It doesn't get into the details of if the use of force was justified, that happens later.
It's a matter of if there is any sort of real injury.
Just a little bit? yea you can say allot. end result is the win just goes to more socialist type of economy higher taxes, pay more for Smokes, Gas so yett the people get to pay more etc etc.
That type of damage cannot be proven for yet another lawsuit. This is being more of a Philosophical argument then Case law. so i can stop i think you know what i mean.
Basically I think you get what I'm saying, yeah.
For sure @Maw #Respect
Evening!
deep thinkers i feel like the dumb blonde here🤔
You're fine. Things just play out here. It's not a typical echo chamber.
I got a legal question about statutory laws. I looked up the legal definition of voter in my state, and it said a voter is a legal voter. How in the world does that define anything? A dog is a legal dog?
nice change
Which is largely why I prefer debating here than the typical places I'm used to debating.
Conflicting views are hard to find on most other platforms, as algorithms keep everyone in their special little boxes.
There are no conflicting views to mine. Mine are right 🙃
I find it all very fascinating. I rarely have much to contribute except encouragement to make me understand what people think.
Agreeing is an entirely separate matter.
I don't generally become a contrarian and debate people I agree with.
Also, YAY SLIDES!
I have the problem of having grown up in a family of librarians, teachers, and ministers. And not having taken a single American lit course until I got to college. I speak the same words as everyone else, it just isn't the same language.
Yis.
true but it is nice to see people getting involved..never would have seen this response a few year back
This is almost like 110-115 years ago. It was remarked how Americans would get off work, go home and change out of their work clothes into a suit, and hit the pub to debate politics.
I don't think I act as contrarian with people with whom I agree.
I do if they misrepresent something on the other side.
That's about it.
It's common they do that though.
