Thank fuck for weird task launchers that let me access different system settings stuff.

2018-08-13 19:04:16 UTC

Specifically, I was able to access android default apps settings instead of the Mi stuff, and they let me disable / uninstall a bunch of stuff I was otherwise not allowed to touch.

2018-08-13 19:06:24 UTC

Okay boys and girls

2018-08-13 19:06:31 UTC

I came back from a visit to a friend

2018-08-13 19:06:35 UTC

And the results are in

2018-08-13 19:06:37 UTC

It's gpu tht's fucked

2018-08-13 19:07:09 UTC

The scientific test was as follow:
connect my GPU to his PC, run furmark (GPU shat bricks)
connect his GPU to my PC, run furmark (no GPU shatting bricks)

2018-08-13 19:08:16 UTC

The actual GPU, or the cooling or something you can fix?

2018-08-13 19:10:53 UTC

>something you can fix
I am not going to fix anything

2018-08-13 19:10:56 UTC

I am going to RMA this shit

2018-08-13 19:11:18 UTC

But I am not sure which part in particular seems broken, most likely something with temperature

2018-08-13 19:14:50 UTC

Oh, well if RMA is an option then yeah, that's what you do.

2018-08-13 19:15:00 UTC

Basically we ran Furmark and the card instead of throttle or run anything just straight shut down

2018-08-13 19:15:08 UTC

πŸ‘

2018-08-13 19:15:29 UTC

And it's not PSU as @Matthew were to say since we plugged in another GPU, ran Furmark and nothing happened bad

2018-08-13 19:15:34 UTC

My most recent Nvidia card ran really hot, and then finally just died.

2018-08-13 19:15:42 UTC

As in perma-death. Out of warranty.

2018-08-13 19:15:43 UTC

The thing is it doesn't even runs hot

2018-08-13 19:15:49 UTC

It's like 70*C and then ded

2018-08-13 19:15:56 UTC

Then it doesn't sound cooling related.

2018-08-13 19:16:08 UTC

It shouldn't shut down at 70*C

2018-08-13 19:16:09 UTC

That's for sure

2018-08-13 19:16:14 UTC

Or even after 1 second of furmark

2018-08-13 19:16:24 UTC

Yeah, my Nvidia piece of garbage ran at a baseline 80c or something really stupid.

2018-08-13 19:16:24 UTC

Like after 1 second the fans go 100% and the card shut downs

2018-08-13 19:17:06 UTC

Weird. Sounds almost like there's a sensor malfunction.

2018-08-13 20:21:12 UTC

ohgod

2018-08-13 20:21:23 UTC

My previous poop session could be best summarised as literal faucet
