@Deleted User The main problem is the edit in Romans where they say "faith ALONE" totally stupid. Leaves no room for anyone to make effort or sacrifice, and dangerous to souls as well as extremely naive, coming from a mere mortal

2018-06-19 21:48:20 UTC

what do you mean "no room for anyone to make effort or sacrifice"?

2018-06-19 21:49:07 UTC

If you are simply saved by faith alone then that throws out Church theology on following various commandments in order to be saved. Little concept of effort for salvation

2018-06-19 21:49:33 UTC

no, faith alone means that your salvation is based on solely on your fidelity to the teachings of God, not like specific rituals or works

2018-06-19 21:50:04 UTC

James 2:17

2018-06-19 21:50:06 UTC

faith is a relationship with Christ, not a belief or hope

2018-06-19 21:50:17 UTC

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

2018-06-19 21:50:42 UTC

Still disregards Adorations, Institutions, the founding of Jesus' church through St. Peter. You need the institutions

2018-06-19 21:50:53 UTC

What denomination are you if I may ask

2018-06-19 21:51:21 UTC

James 2:17 is right. Works are the fruit of honest faith, but specific works are not requirements for salvation

2018-06-19 21:51:29 UTC

@Airdrieonian I think that's the biggest difference between Protestants and Catholics, that Prots don't believe the institutions of Catholicism are necessary or are sometimes even actually negative

2018-06-19 21:51:33 UTC

There isn't one without the other...

2018-06-19 21:51:35 UTC
