Interesting. How much are they? 100$?

2019-02-01 02:03:12 UTC

you have to be okay with your data being used for research, but at least they're not gonna sell it

2019-02-01 02:03:13 UTC

$80 right now I think

2019-02-01 02:03:37 UTC

any info you could give on the university @Jacob ?

2019-02-01 02:03:37 UTC

From the day I placed it in my mailbox, it took 3 weeks to get my results

2019-02-01 02:04:15 UTC

You have to pay extra for haplogroups

2019-02-01 02:04:18 UTC

@Fjällvargar just a heads up we try not to use ((())) in IE.

2019-02-01 02:04:24 UTC

👍🏻

2019-02-01 02:04:41 UTC

Sorry about that

2019-02-01 02:04:51 UTC

Don’t sweat it. I’m not a mod.

2019-02-01 02:05:23 UTC

@Fjällvargar Have you tried Ancestry?

2019-02-01 02:05:24 UTC

All the same — it’s good information. I’m not on the server a lot and it’s good to know the etiquette.

2019-02-01 02:05:41 UTC

Hello everyone

2019-02-01 02:05:48 UTC

@DixieBoy76 - KY I did that one first.

2019-02-01 02:05:49 UTC

It’s just considered kind of Wignat lol

2019-02-01 02:05:55 UTC

Yeah here’s mine

2019-02-01 02:07:42 UTC

It’s funny how I pretty much expected these results because my dad’s entire side except for one branch is Prussian and the Swedish came from an illegal alien from Sweden who settled here in the 1790’s

2019-02-01 02:07:49 UTC

That’s almost identical to mine except my Sweden is 48%

2019-02-01 02:08:10 UTC

Then mom’s side is entirely English settled in Kentucky over 200 years ago

2019-02-01 02:08:22 UTC

>“Almost identical”

2019-02-01 02:08:34 UTC

> “except for 48% difference”

2019-02-01 02:08:36 UTC

Lol

2019-02-01 02:08:36 UTC

I meant regionally lol

2019-02-01 02:08:50 UTC

I’m an idiot sometimes

2019-02-01 02:08:54 UTC

I’m really not sure where the Irish/Scottish is from

2019-02-01 02:09:11 UTC

Same here. I have 7% Irish and I’ve no clue where that comes from

2019-02-01 02:09:33 UTC

My great aunt got 2% Jewish and so did my cousin (her son)

2019-02-01 02:09:43 UTC

So I’m confused how it didn’t show up on mine.

2019-02-01 02:10:17 UTC

Curious. Yeah, my sister got 2% Norwegian, but that didn’t show on mine.

2019-02-01 02:10:28 UTC

Either I have a Jewish ancestor like 12 generations ago or it’s from a different genetic line like her dad

2019-02-01 02:11:03 UTC

Well, the tribe only considers you Jewish if it’s your mother’s side and at least 3 generations I think.

2019-02-01 02:11:11 UTC

P sure anything under 10% is extremely low confidence so not to be taken seriously

2019-02-01 02:11:24 UTC

For sure. It could be an abnormality.

2019-02-01 02:11:27 UTC

They also hadn’t updated their results

2019-02-01 02:11:52 UTC

Well, that and there is a huge difference between accuracy and precision.

2019-02-01 02:12:07 UTC

@Fjällvargar as for the Norwegian

2019-02-01 02:12:21 UTC

It’s common for genetics to be passed down differently to each child

2019-02-01 02:12:22 UTC

Saying I’m European is accurate, but saying I’m Swedish is precise.

2019-02-01 02:12:29 UTC

Absolutely

2019-02-01 02:13:10 UTC

@DixieBoy76 - KY from where in Kentucky do you live?
