i think i must agree with @Voortrekker points here, its not new in South Africa for students to beat up teachers and if the teacher didn't hit the student once to make a point, heaven only knows what more would have come out of this. i would also like to point out the fact that when the student started attacking the teacher first

@Meerkat_RSA SRC sent an email saying those with under 100 000 debt can enroll in the next year. They made this up and the actual figure was 10 000. Panic ensues and now there’s a hunger strike or something. Today it apparently got intense and they locked the university down(no one in and only one gate out) 10mins after I had just left this morning. Riot police are there now I think. Not too sure what’s going on at the moment
