We pray the Father's will be done

2019-06-13 17:37:04 UTC

The Father knows better than we do

2019-06-13 17:37:20 UTC

So we shouldn't be praying about things such as "God, please make it so that our governments do justice and get better"? Because, after all, the prophecy must be fulfilled, and that means everything HAS to get worse.

2019-06-13 17:37:21 UTC

God does not want anyone to perish

2019-06-13 17:37:37 UTC

So asking his will be done is the best we can do

2019-06-13 17:37:51 UTC

So we shouldn't be praying about stuff getting better in the governments, right?

2019-06-13 17:37:56 UTC

That's too specific.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

2019-06-13 17:38:16 UTC

**1 Timothy 2:1-4 - King James Version (KJV)**

```Dust
<1> I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; <2> For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. <3> For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; <4> Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ```
2019-06-13 17:38:31 UTC
Nice verse. It aids what we're saying.
2019-06-13 17:38:45 UTC
So, what about the fulfillment of the prophecy, that things WILL get worse.
2019-06-13 17:39:00 UTC
Do we pray for that despite the upcoming destruction and injustice?
2019-06-13 17:39:25 UTC
We should ask mercy be shown to those who are not yet saved
2019-06-13 17:39:38 UTC
While we wait for rapture
2019-06-13 17:39:40 UTC
I want to take that verse 2 in particular.
2019-06-13 17:39:53 UTC
"For kings, and for all that are in authority"
2019-06-13 17:40:15 UTC
Why pray for it if everything is going to get worse? (Don't get me wrong, I will still pray for that, it's just an honest question I got)
2019-06-13 17:42:15 UTC
Praying for others, despite things getting worse, is the right thing to do. We don’t need to pray for bad things to happen.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
2019-06-13 17:49:55 UTC
**1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - King James Version (KJV)**
```Dust

<16> Rejoice evermore. <17> Pray without ceasing. <18> In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ```

Hosea 3:1-2

2019-06-13 20:09:47 UTC

**Hosea 3:1-2 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**

```Dust
Further Assurances of God’s Redeeming Love
<1> The Lord said to me again, "Go, love a woman who has a lover and is an adulteress, just as the Lord loves the people of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes." <2> So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer of barley and a measure of wine. ```
2019-06-13 20:25:06 UTC
......
2019-06-13 20:25:10 UTC
What?
2019-06-13 20:25:35 UTC
Hell if I know
2019-06-13 20:25:49 UTC
That's quite the verse
2019-06-13 20:25:52 UTC
Just going through it for funsies
2019-06-13 20:27:02 UTC
What's the raisin cakes thing about
2019-06-13 20:27:39 UTC
😆
2019-06-13 20:27:48 UTC
I wish I knew
@🍄The Mad Philosopher🍄 @A Search for Roche's Rifle @Derek Nelson @Bibleman I think we all need to come together to figure out a way to discuss religion in a better way that
"my belief is better than your belief"
"you don't have any science"
"neither do you"
"I will kill you"
"God is on my side you will lose"
"My God is better than your god bring it on"
2019-06-13 21:54:54 UTC
Big oof
2019-06-13 22:56:03 UTC
I agree. I think the easiest way is to oppose religious opinions in debate channels.
Perhaps, move the Bible study room up to where this room is, as well?
If there's already a Bible study room, there's no need to fill two rooms up with the same thing. Bible study discussions might also get less paid attention to in this room since there is already one and other people might want to discuss something else in this one.
Might make things a bit more fluent.
Seems like a fair compromise.
2019-06-13 23:55:41 UTC
The room is not the problem in my opinion. The issue is when people blatantly disrespect others in order to get a rise out of them. But I do agree there should be a separate room for bible studies.
2019-06-13 23:55:44 UTC
😃
2019-06-13 23:56:37 UTC
Last night I posted my study and it was immediately lost in a massive amount of spam, lol. So perhaps I will start pasting them into that room instead. 😃
2019-06-14 00:06:19 UTC
@Human Sheeple I agree we need to find a better way to talk to one another. Though I can tell you I try never to say the things you mentioned above because it is not loving. There is a difference between rebuking and exhortation, and outright clashing and disrespecting someone. We are called to preach the good news and the kingdom of God...we are not called to chase people away with a stick.
