Just because in some situations it's useful to model things a certain way doesn't make the model indicative of reality. Look at the disconnect between classical and quantum mechanics, for example
@meep if everything they put out was about a sphere earth, they wouldn’t be mentioning a flat nonrotating earth.
They would if that's how they were modelling it
You would model a flat nonrotating earth, to experiment with a spherical rotating one?
Uh no because that paper isn't about experimentation on a spherical earth
It's about modelling aeroplane flight, for which the rotation of the earth is irrelevant

@Jodé I'm going to have to ask you to stop laughing at things that are discussed in the chat. You are welcome to disagree, but not condescend by laughing or any other forms of condescension.
Correct, Derek. A nice thing about science, making certain simplifications helps mathematics a lot
i agree
Derek what point are you trying to make? Tesla's quote isn't really applicable here but if it was it would be supporting the idea that those equations don't necessarily reflect reality

There’s math we can use to measure in real time and reality, and then there’s theoretical math that has no semblance to reality at any time.
How do you determine the difference between theoretical and math you consider "real"? All have their defined applications and situations for which they are valid
I already gave one with Einstein.
Good evening it's me
Except that the theory of relativity has been used for real world measurement
All I know is their own definition of matter and mass just don't jive... their own words ... so I call BS on science
Do I need to expose another globie
And why does it make mathematics any less real if it only has niche applications? A lot of mathematics may not measure reality but can be used in computation, for example
Math that fits observation and experiment, meets the criteria for measurement. Math that does not fit observation or experiment, does not meet the criteria for provable math.
Okay so what about the theory of relativity being used to explain muon time contraction, or being used in the clock/plane experiment?
are those just both fake or?
Stating hypotheticals and theories all the time, with ‘magic math’ that isn’t observable, or able to be experimented with, is not a means of proof. It’s bullshit.
