Scientific theory isn’t the method that determines proof. The scientific method is.

2019-05-18 02:42:11 UTC

@Credibly Charted sorry its not its about what a scientific theory is

2019-05-18 02:42:30 UTC

what i said doesnt say that at all

2019-05-18 02:42:43 UTC

Well we can easily just search up the requirements of a scientific theory and it's definitions

2019-05-18 02:43:28 UTC

@Derek Nelson No, but the theory is put trough the scientific method.

A scientific theory explains a natural event of some sort. It makes predictions, and if said predictions are accurate and stand up to testing and verifiabilty, it remains as a theory.

2019-05-18 02:43:49 UTC

It shouldn't be a debate about what it is

2019-05-18 02:44:03 UTC

@Credibly Charted thats what im sayin man

2019-05-18 02:44:17 UTC

Well if Derek was paying attention to what sort of theory I'm talking about, this wouldn't be a debate at all.

Scientific theory can take elements that are proven by the scientific method, and use it in their hypothesis. Like water being wet, for example. But a scientific theory can say something like, “water is wet, therefore ball earth.” And still completely qualify as scientific theory, and Fail the scientific method.

2019-05-18 02:44:42 UTC

are you actually being serious

2019-05-18 02:44:48 UTC

Eh? Really?

2019-05-18 02:44:49 UTC

I think he is.

2019-05-18 02:44:52 UTC

More serious than cancer.

2019-05-18 02:44:53 UTC

_"do your research" intensifies_

2019-05-18 02:44:56 UTC

i think im gonna cry

2019-05-18 02:44:57 UTC

Lmfao Derek cmon

2019-05-18 02:45:09 UTC

This is embarrassing

2019-05-18 02:45:18 UTC

.

2019-05-18 02:45:34 UTC

You can thank atheists who taught me this 10 years ago.

2019-05-18 02:45:48 UTC

im atheist

2019-05-18 02:45:49 UTC

Man, I don't know what sort of world you live in, but anyone with an ounce of scientific knowledge would laught at your assertions.

2019-05-18 02:46:00 UTC

You're welcome I guess

2019-05-18 02:46:12 UTC

atheist doesnt mean stupid it means you dont have a religion

2019-05-18 02:46:16 UTC

*I'm refering to Derek*

2019-05-18 02:46:27 UTC

@Derek Nelson Sorry to tell you Derek but saying "water is wet, therefore ball earth.” is an incorrect statement and the fact that that scientific theories have some type of explanation/proof to be their backbone

2019-05-18 02:47:05 UTC

If a hypothesis can be unequivocally proven. There’s no need to even mention scientific theory. You would cite the scientific method.

2019-05-18 02:47:45 UTC

Like, Derek, my man, boyo, compadre, home slice bread slice.

I literally study these subjects on a daily basis. I'm in college. I'm majoring in phyiscs, and, I'm afraid to say, you're wrong.

2019-05-18 02:47:50 UTC

But real scientists know that earth curvature for example, fails the scientific method for a ball earth of 24,901 miles in circumference.

2019-05-18 02:47:54 UTC

Do you know what a hypothesis is?

2019-05-18 02:48:04 UTC

@Derek Nelson actually it doesnt but ok

2019-05-18 02:48:11 UTC

Derek, you are embarassing yourself.

2019-05-18 02:48:12 UTC

It does.

2019-05-18 02:48:29 UTC

Show it so that it has no other explanation other than flat earth.

2019-05-18 02:48:40 UTC

so does every flat earth argument ever made

2019-05-18 02:48:47 UTC

every single one has failed

2019-05-18 02:48:56 UTC

to my knowledge at least

2019-05-18 02:49:01 UTC

So, you should have no problem proving to me with the scientific method and real pictures of earth curvature for a sphere of 24,901 miles in circumference?

2019-05-18 02:49:11 UTC

yes
