@Teddy the thinking of needing to protect itself and destroying humanity dont need any feelings it kind of develops as necessity from the function its given

2019-09-14 21:53:04 UTC

If it can destroy a civilization then it should be easy for them to get all the resources and expand.

2019-09-14 21:53:07 UTC

@Teddy thats why the friendly ai problem is so hard its very hard to find a way for an ai to do something while also caring for the same things we do

2019-09-14 21:53:18 UTC

yes

2019-09-14 21:53:32 UTC

but there would be no need to expand anymore once it solved the problem

2019-09-14 21:53:43 UTC

it would just print out the solution and shut down

2019-09-14 21:53:52 UTC

similar to a computer solving a problem and finishing

2019-09-14 21:54:04 UTC

it would simply destroy humanity in the process as byproduct

2019-09-14 21:54:18 UTC

no ill will just happend to be the anthill in the way of a highway

2019-09-14 21:54:43 UTC

if a computer had conciousness the story might be different tho

2019-09-14 21:54:52 UTC

of if the order is to colonize the universe

2019-09-14 21:55:29 UTC

basically the first ai clever enough is also the last we produce

2019-09-14 21:55:37 UTC

2019-09-14 21:55:48 UTC

and if it has the wrong goal we are f d

2019-09-14 21:56:02 UTC

no response?

2019-09-14 21:57:34 UTC

anyway the fermi paradox kind of builds on the premise that u have a civilization that colonizes the galaxy within like 100 000 years and the fact we are not colonized is the curious strange thing since that means that in our galaxy noone has ever started the process yet

2019-09-14 22:52:10 UTC

So just want to understand this:
Sun? Round.
Moon? Round.
Planets in solar system? Round.
But earth? Flat? Why?

2019-09-14 22:54:23 UTC

@negatic basically the fear that AIs will want to take over humanity is justified by math

2019-09-14 22:55:15 UTC

or logic

2019-09-14 23:50:46 UTC

@Meg678 a pizza is round

2019-09-15 00:12:24 UTC

moon, spherical, sun, spherical, planets in solar system, spherical @Mathieus the Walking Witness

2019-09-15 00:21:17 UTC

@bait how was you able to detect if those objects are spherical?

2019-09-15 00:22:31 UTC

uh, lighting effect on moons

2019-09-15 03:49:48 UTC

Do people actually believe the earth is flat?

2019-09-15 03:50:35 UTC

There has been live satellite footage and gps satellites. Could understanding the earth is round not be more obvious?

2019-09-15 04:58:49 UTC

@iVepz#3478 yea i cant believe these flatties and their dumb ideas

2019-09-15 04:59:29 UTC

@MBK... مبارك/﷽ one more insult and a mute

2019-09-15 04:59:41 UTC

You can critize but please no insulting

2019-09-15 08:38:24 UTC

i support the mainstream model, but playing devils advocate, live satellite and gps could be editted

2019-09-15 09:17:20 UTC

@Abe Lover mute from who?

2019-09-15 09:26:45 UTC

@Abe Lover come at me ane

2019-09-15 09:28:08 UTC

they are staff?

2019-09-15 09:28:19 UTC

regulators and stabilizers are staff right

2019-09-15 13:10:13 UTC

@negatic You missed the point.

2019-09-15 13:49:36 UTC

What about the 1930's? @Bird-Finchine (UK, Wales)

2019-09-15 14:07:07 UTC

I am exist

2019-09-15 14:09:02 UTC

Here

2019-09-15 14:09:30 UTC

@Piledriverkiller so what's your #1 best proof the earth is a sphere?

2019-09-15 14:09:37 UTC

@3spurr and temperature control

2019-09-15 14:11:56 UTC

Well u can see the shadow of the earth on the moon in an eclipse, also if the earth were flat wouldn’t we be able to see every other continent with a telescope
