Hello, I have another question for flat earthers, regarding flight paths.

2019-09-20 18:35:20 UTC

Flight from Santiago, Chile to Sydney, Australia - 11k km 14 hours 20 minutes no stop
Flight from Boston, Massachusetts to Tokyo, Japan, little less than 11km 13 hours 50 minutes no stop

2019-09-20 18:35:32 UTC

Tested these with actual flight plans online

2019-09-20 18:36:28 UTC

This is what those flight paths look like on the flat earth model.

2019-09-20 18:36:32 UTC

How is this possible?

2019-09-20 18:39:34 UTC

No matter which way you go, on the FE map, the distance from Santiago Chile to Sydney Australia is more than twice that of the distance from Massachusetts to Tokyo, and yet both flights only have a difference of 30 minutes in the time it takes to reach the destination.

2019-09-20 19:01:19 UTC

These are just your beliefs of thinking you have calculated these distances or figured out exactly how magnetic lines work or flight maps work because you decided to believe the mainstream strawman arguments

If the earth was spinning then plane flight times would be different depending on what direction they flew.

If the earth was curved then planes would have to dip their noses as the flew to account for curvature, which they dont.

.

2019-09-20 19:02:28 UTC

Okay, sure, but you didn't answer my question. You didn't explain how this is possible.

2019-09-20 19:03:04 UTC

He just presented those two statements in order to deflect me.

2019-09-20 19:03:16 UTC

It's another way of saying he doesn't know.

Either one of the 2 premise must be right for that to work on flat earth, first one is that the flat earth map is wrong and new zealand is a bit closer to america or second that japan is actually much further away.

The earth spinning does not have a large effect on air flight times, the figure flat earth people use (around 1000 miles an hour) is the vector velocity, if one point was to travel on a straight line that’s how fast it would be, it’s an irrelevant figure when we are talking about an object rotating and the relative speed you feel. We use rotations per minute (rpm as commonly known) to calculate this, in our globe case we travel 1 rotation per 24 hours, 1 rotation per 1440 minutes which is incredibly slow in comparison. When calculating such a flight it would have minuscule effect on the plane and us relatively

2019-09-20 20:09:32 UTC

Hello Guys how are you doing ?

2019-09-20 20:09:59 UTC

oh, hi there Ethan

2019-09-20 20:10:32 UTC

The reasons planes don’t have to dip the nose is that the earths curvature is not as drastic as most visual representations are seen, you have to be at least 10k miles in the air to see a most of the curvature, if you want a good example@some@of the largest bridge designs are further from the top of each tower then they are at their bases despite being level as a testament, drag forces and gravity keep the plane from just flying into space as well as gentle piloting, pilots have to actively monitor the altitude and keep within parameters, you act as if these planes don’t have to be monitored or flown especially with passengers

2019-09-20 20:12:33 UTC

When you make the argument of “why don’t they have to dip the nose down” when a plane launches, you are with the intent to keep the plane level to the ground, when you fire an object linearly, like im@envisioning what you think a plane does on a globe earth if you don’t dip the nose

2019-09-20 20:13:20 UTC

Yes it will reach space, eventually, given enough fuel and thrust, but the fact of the matter is pilots do have to manage and monitor their planes, it’s why they are called pilots

My real issue with flat earth is what causes the tides and the banding of the oceans to celestial bodies other then gravity

2019-09-20 20:18:33 UTC

Or why celestial bodies are round and not discs

2019-09-20 20:19:41 UTC

Or why we wouldn’t be able to take a telescope and such to visibly see the sun while we were in nightfall

2019-09-20 20:20:09 UTC

hi guys

2019-09-20 20:20:20 UTC

earth is just one big titty

2019-09-20 20:20:22 UTC

Or why places like Alaska and Nova Scotia where I have lived for many years have periods of days of night or days of sunlight

2019-09-20 20:20:26 UTC

i think the earth is rectangular can you guys prove me wrong?

2019-09-20 20:28:10 UTC

Do you have any concrete proof, that the earth is flat, just asking?
