> Wasn't the story this. God warned them not to eat, yet they did?
@justkaus actually but he didnt know the extent
By the serpent
he was just making an example out of adam
More or less
And his punishment was very severe
For such a small thing
> @justkaus actually but he didnt know the extent
@Hippity Hoppity if you put the actually in front. That still makes it a crime no?
> And his punishment was very severe
@NumberOneSilver to be fair god did sniff up his nostrils
I don’t believe in Adam and Eve for multiple reasons, but mainly because science more or less disproves that two people alone could build a healthy population with a diverse gene pool.
> @Hippity Hoppity if you put the actually in front. That still makes it a crime no?
@justkaus not a crime god just wanted to make an example out of adam to warn humans to obey him
> @justkaus not a crime god just wanted to make an example out of adam to warn humans to obey him
@Hippity Hoppity would you call it a sin? Yes/no
> @Hippity Hoppity would you call it a sin? Yes/no
@justkaus god doesnt
> I don’t believe in Adam and Eve for multiple reasons, but mainly because science more or less disproves that two people alone could build a healthy population with a diverse gene pool.
@NumberOneSilver metaphors are a thing man. Mythology dosent have to be correct historically, it has a different purpose
> @justkaus god doesnt
@Hippity Hoppity hmmm. Would you?
yeah most catholics know the stuff in the bible didn’t happen
most of it is a metaphor
> @Hippity Hoppity hmmm. Would you?
@justkaus no
he ate an apple
like they came up w a stir
story
> @justkaus no
@Hippity Hoppity I see. Well my original point was that control isint the root cause of sin
like adam and eve w original sin or the creation story
> @Hippity Hoppity I see. Well my original point was that control isint the root cause of sin
@justkaus i don't care about your point i care about what you said
> story
@sofia0368 it's not a story. It's not a fact. It's called a "archetype"
> @NumberOneSilver metaphors are a thing man. Mythology dosent have to be correct historically, it has a different purpose
@justkaus Yes, but even the metaphor is fucked up.
Not only that, but people actually believe that Adam and Eve actually existed...Especially the people at my old church.
i don't get christianity
> @justkaus i don't care about your point i care about what you said
@Hippity Hoppity well. If God thinks it's sin. I will think it's sin too
story, archetype
whatever
> i don't get christianity
@pisspuppy me either
> whatever
@sofia0368 BIG difference
> @Hippity Hoppity well. If God thinks it's sin. I will think it's sin too
@justkaus but god doesnt think it is a sin
thats what it says in my ancient text
> @justkaus but god doesnt think it is a sin
@Hippity Hoppity you literally said the opposite
> @Hippity Hoppity well. If God thinks it's sin. I will think it's sin too
@justkaus Even god made exceptions....Would you do the same for your favorite people?
> @justkaus god doesnt
@Hippity Hoppity .
point is most catholics realize that the stories there are just to explain or give an origin to something, without actually happening
> @justkaus Even god made exceptions....Would you do the same for your favorite people?
@NumberOneSilver depends
i mean some people think they happened
Yeah
