If God's word is law, then isn't a new Testament redundant? Wouldn't his laws, being able to see into the future and all, be able to be maintained throughout all time? If a change happens it means god reconsidered an idea, which is strange as he is infallable. The point being he wouldn't have to had changed any rules they would have been put in place to work no matter what.

@therealdandan I am still looking into modern monetary theory (MMT). I will have a few books on it soon, but my initial impressions are not very good. There are some major flaws in the idea and for some reason the lessons learned from history are slightly ignored. I will give it a read when those books come in, overall I am not impressed. Thanks for the suggestion and I hope to a better discussion on the topic soon.
